Honestly I'd find it pretty messed up if a person wouldn't do a temporary fusion to save every soul in his or her universe regardless of their career path.
Why would Hit have any reason to fuse though? He thought he was strong enough to take on Jiren solo, so why would he think he needed to fuse beforehand?
No he didn't. He even said once his first hit connected punch to the heart didn't kill Jiren he knew with certainty he had no chance. Yet he kept going after.

You're also mistaking the point of the thread I think. It isn't supposed to be realistic to the personalities. It's about how they could have won given the perfect strategy in the Ops opinion. So really whether Hit would or wouldn't has no place in the thread is my point really.
He very obviously did think he could initially take on Jiren given he charged in right after Son got blasted away. What I'm saying is up until that point, Hit would have absolutely no reason to fuse and given how immensely powerful Jiren is, I highly doubt that a fusion with Cabba or Botamo who are hundreds of times weaker than he is would do anything at all.

And this perfect strategy would never work if the characters aren't even considered. Otherwise you're literally just dealing with numbers and power levels instead of people. 2 x 2 > Jiren. None of these strategies would work anyway. Hit fusing with Botamo would only make him weaker given the amount of weaknesses Botamo's body has, and Kefla would undoubtedly be stronger. Even if Kefla and Hit both fought Jiren at the same time, they would still lose given neither of them are close to UI Goku's level, and Goku could still barely even get a few hits in on Jiren with UI.

Kefla would beat everyone else.
No saonel and pirina fused would NOT beat jiren. Kefla had 0 chance vs jiren, hell ssb vegito might not even beat jiren.

We don't even know how strong Kefla was and her problem is that she is not that smart. She had no chance against Ultra Instinct because of what Ultra Instinct is. I don't even know how Jiren is suppose to Hit Goku unless he has Ultra Instinct himself.

U6 lost mostly because of bad luck and poor choices.

- Magetta and Botamo should have stayed together to cover their weaknesses, with Botamo being the most stupid for overestimating himself again.

- Frost was an idiot for trusting Freeza when he had a good plan being a vulture and being fairly powerful to take care of himself.

- Hit really shouldn't have gone near Jiren, although he did try to cheap shot him.

- Kelfa had the really bad luck of getting UI Goku when she had the fight won, and Goku got UI only because of a recent freaked accident and no one suspected he would get the form again.

- The final nail, the Namekians took too long to awakened their power. If they had their power unlocked sooner, U6 may of had a chance since they would have been U6's strongest fighters after Hit and Kefla. Instead, it didn't awaken until they were the last ones in the ring.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.
