I don't think about it as a tournament, but fair enough. I rephrase then: "That's been the case in six of the seven* tournaments we had previously in the franchise".
(I actually don't remember if killing was banned in Baba's tournament. My point would be the same anyway).
*Not counting the Otherworld Tournament for obvious reasons.
Anyone disappointed we didn't get to see someone disqualified for accidentally killing an opponent?

That was less than a tourument and more Cell stroking himself.Polyphase Avatron wrote:What about the Cell Games?Majin Jator wrote:That's been the case in all the previous tournament of the franchise...

Even then, I remember Cell making a no killing rule there as well; because he wanted his opponents to be alive to witness their defeat.HeroR wrote:That was less than a tourument and more Cell stroking himself.Polyphase Avatron wrote:What about the Cell Games?Majin Jator wrote:That's been the case in all the previous tournament of the franchise...
Also, the allowing yourself to die to get another opponent disqualified wouldn't work. When everybody thought Goku was dead after Jiren pushed the spirit bomb back into Goku, the Grand Priest informed everybody that Jiren was fine because it counted as self-inflicted death.
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

Killing wasn’t against the rules, but wasn’t encouraged. Cell even said he will try not to kill anyone when he announced the tourument.Kanassa wrote:Even then, I remember Cell making a no killing rule there as well; because he wanted his opponents to be alive to witness their defeat.HeroR wrote:That was less than a tourument and more Cell stroking himself.Polyphase Avatron wrote:
