Dragon Ball has been a rare successful return of a franchise.

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I'm interested to see if any of these revivals that have been critically successful will be reevaluated after a few years.

Commercially successful films like the ones I hated (Kong, Zilla, Fury Road, Force Awakens, Last Jedi) will not be re-evaluated cuz....they made GOLD at BO!!!

Critically acclaimed films which may/may not succeded at BO will ALWAYS be re-evaluated to be tested on its merits

Plenty of films regardless of Box Office are reevaluated. It's a Wonderful Life was neither a box office success or a critical success but it has since become a classic.

I'm not sure Fury Road counts as an example of success, made bunk at the BO.

DB not surprising, most folks who grew up on the show probably have younger siblings or children of their own to pass the torch down too so to speak.

I would argue Voltron has been a successful reboot, considering there are now three seasons of the new series available.

Sorry but rare? 99% of modern entertainment is a continuation/remake/retelling/reboot of XX century properties & stories etc.

That's a HUGE hyperbole. You might be right about modern blockbusters, but there is a vast amount of material being produced these days and a ton of the TV out there is original.
