Like continuity? Oh, wait, that describes all but like,
two of the movies...
I should buy more of these movies. all I (
officially)own is #12. I actually want to watch #4 now, after all this discussion.

All of this has been said already. Yes this movie is a copy of the piccolo arc, yes gt wasn't as good as expected, yes Piccolo is the strongest character in the entire series. This is all understood by everyone in/on(?) the board. There are movies I don't mind but I'm that much of a fan to still make room to enjoy it. We can all sit around here saying what we don't like from the series and its movies, but all it would do is make us like it even less. Enjoy what's out there because it's ten times better than any AF crap that would come out.
The bold was a joke.. yeah a joke.. heh

Oh no, I know you meant that as a joke, but I have seen that used as a reason countless times from people as to why the movie is stupid. I was addressing those people. Sorry, I should have made that clearer.^^'

I've always loved it mainly because of the violence. You forgot to mention Piccolo ripping his own ears off and Goku punching through Slug. The fact that it takes place in the dark along with all this violence makes it really cool, in my opinion.
I liked the fake Ssj, he looked out of control, it was cool.
Some people are saying we've seen evil Namekians before so this is nothing new. We've also seen evil saiyans before, Cooler is basically Freeza and we've already seen androids. There are more original villains then Slug but he's still not the worst.
It's in my top five along with movies 1, 9, 12 and 13.

I liked movies 4 and 11 because everyone else hated them.
It was actually movie 10 I hated the most and a lot of people liked that.

Let's see somthing that I have said before. It's filler and it sucks. It doesn't suck because it's filler, its both of them. That registers as two reasons why it isn't cool. We saw Piccolo and we saw Piccolo Jr. By the time of the Piccolo Jr saga we were damn sick of the green demon dude. We just wanted it to END with as much grace as possible. Then they go and make some good stuff, non Piccolo centered. He sure is still a bad guy, but he isn't on the spotlight. Then the Slug dude comes and gives us a hideous dose of what we were trying to escape from. You see now, why it's so bad? I'm saying that and I liked the Piccolo Jr saga and the Piccolo sagas!

Nah, I don't agree with that. Come on both Piccolo's and Slug together didn't get as tiring as someone like Buu. I guess it's all a matter of opinion (and in some cases sheep) but I really like movie 4.

Lord Slug isn't Filler. Not a single movie is Filler.
Filler are scenes exclusively in the Anime put between scenes derived from the Manga to stretch out or elaborate on things in order to keep the Anime for getting ahead of the Manga.
The movies are side projects made for the duel-yearly Toei Animation Festivals, and have nothing to do with the term "Filler".
Know the difference. Get it right. Keep it straight.
Thank you.

I watched some clips of movie four and it doesn't seem that bad. I really like the art-work in movie four now that I've gotten the chance to check it out. I'm usually not a fan of the older animation style but it looked really good in that movie.
I'm also a fan of the dark-fighting sequence. (As a karate teacher, I've only taught my stuendets to do this once) It's very cool... it's also very hard which makes this movie a little more intense.

I'm not a bad grammar freak but I don't think you're supposed to put words in quatations unless you're using for a differenet meaning. Just a heads up.
(That probably wasn't clear. I'll check with someone who knows these better.)

After I read that, I see that I defend that movie (4) just because people hate it. I also think people hate movie four is because they are told to. Get your own damn opinion: like gt, watch some dubs, play sparking and call it budokai tenkaichi(sp), and call the Jinzoningen Androids! This place is getting so uniform. One person says something and everyone just repeats it with an inside joke in end..

FUNi dubbie here. I also like Tenkaichi more than B3 and a hell of a lot more than SDBZ. Also, Androids. Tuffles. Hercule.

That's not true for everyone though dude.
People can formulate their own oppinions. There are people who really do hate movies 4 and 11, because they thought they sucked. (Personally, I also hate movie 6, a lot of people will diagree with me on that one though)
It's true that people's opinons can be influenced by others, but it is not true for everyone.

Heh, I don't drink coffee. He just kind've struck a pet peeve of mine. It's a long story, but if you're going to "be against" Non-canon Anime materials, at least get the terms right.

I've only seen the Funimation dub of it. I still have the VHS with the huge white case. The only problem I have with the dubbed movies is the BGM. I'm not into bands like Disturbed so whenever I hear it with DBZ it's really out of place. I definitely would have preferred Faulconer's music (I know he did it in a few spots, but it's not really enough to matter).

I still haven't seen the original version of Lord Slug, but the dub was terrible. Not as bad as movie seven, but definately bottom of the barrel.
Which is a shame since Lord Slug was agood movie bad guy. The idea of a super namekian bad guy (who didn't believe he was a demon.) was a good premise. I thought his henchmen looking like like Tamborine and Drum was cool. But everything else about the movie felt flat.
We saw Piccolo and we saw Piccolo Jr. By the time of the Piccolo Jr saga we were damn sick of the green demon dude. We just wanted it to END with as much grace as possible.
Is that the royal we you ae using? The entire Piccolo story arc rules, both in the anime and comic.

Agreed. The Only time, I was really pleased to hear an American Band's music in a movie was in the dub of the Trunks Special, where the entire soundtrack was from Dream Theater's "Scenes From A Memory" I love that band, and I love that album.
Needless to say, upon hearing this in the dub, I was pleasently surprised.
