Sounds like the best might be a mix, then. Watch Kai for the intended arcs, then in-between watch the good filler arcs like training for the Saiyans, Other World Tournament and the driving episode. Unlike the dub there won't be a lot of jarring voice actor and performance changes, with the exception of Vegeta. Smoking is bad for you, kids!
