I probably would've dropped anime altogether as I was coming off a disenchantedness from pkmn. Also my art style would probably look drastically different and I doubt I'd ever gotten into writing stories.

Knowing me I'd have found some other tv show to fandom after.
On hiatus.

If I wasn't into Dragon Ball, I'd kill myself because god forbid, I'd be just like every other snob. Much thanks is to the effort FUNi did in bringing the series in both formats to the US.

For me, Funimation had nothing to do with seeing the Japanese version;
it used to come on every sunday on The International Channel, Japanese raw.

Yeah, well I did see the series in its original Japanese track through bootleg videos, but that certainly doesn't mean I don't acknowledge FUNi for making the series known in US. Some of us don't get International Channel, unfortunately.

If it weren't for Dragon Ball, I wouldn't even know what anime is. I know for a fact that the last two years of my life would be DRASTICALLY different. I wouldn't have joined the DBZOA (before it went to hell and died a slow death), I wouldn't have joined the forum here, and I wouldn't have re-kindled my love for Superman and American comic books.

There is one other BIG way my life would have been different, too. You see, because of Dragon Ball (and by extension my joining the DBZOA) I met the love of my life :D I wouldn't have met her if I didn't discover Dragon Ball all those years ago. Now that I look at it...I owe a good bit to Dragon Ball, hehe.

The DBZOA, eh? Sounds... familiar.

What do you mean meeting the love of your life because of Dragonball or the OA?

Also, I don't think it changed anything for me except cement the things I already liked, like challenging myself, etc.

Mhmmmm. It sounds very familiar. What I meant by love of my life is that I met my girlfriend through the OA. If I hadn't joined the OA I would have never met her. I hope that clears it up.

I wondered where you went after leaving the OA, mAc.

I wouldn't have spent all my money on DB mangas and I wouldn't have spent all my time watching the whole anime on saturday afternoons...But then again, if it wasn't DB, i probably wouldn't like any anime or mangas or whatever...so yeah, I can't live without DB.

I probably wouldn't be as open minded towards listening to TV shows and movies in another language as I am now.

Dragonball did a lot for me along with shows like Captain Tsubasa and Saint Seiya. They sparked an interest that led to other anime, then manga, video games, and finally sparked my interest in animation as a whole. I also learned to love the Japanese culture, which led to and interest in learning the language, and looking into other countries' cultures as well.

My two best friends I met because I had a drawing of Chibi and Super Saiyan 3 Goku on my binder in high school! Dragonball also pushed me to draw and got me into art and writing. And my style is really heavily influenced by Toriyama-Sensei. So, you could say that Dragonball has really influenced me and set off a chain of events that has really enriched my life!
