I just read that part again, and it's not that obvious his name was "Piccolo" back before he split in two, actually. That's what I assumed for a while too, just because he probably didn't become a god right away, and in the meanwhile... well, a name is a good thing to have, I guess.Akira wrote:Piccolo was the name the original Namek took for himself, when he split he became Kami and Daimao, good and evil.
But they never really say anything about him (the original Nameccian before the split) naming himself after that password.
There's even one particular detail that seems to say otherwise... When Bulma hears that "piccolo" meant "other world", she deduces that "Piccolo Daimaô" really meant "the demon king from another world". If she's right about that (it's just her deduction, after all... but it remains unchallenged), it might mean that Kami-Sama was never named "Piccolo".
I don't believe they said anything to that effect? From my understanding, Katatz was the "brother" of the Great Elder.
Again, if I remember well, the "ryûzoku" ("Dragon Clan") and the warriors are (the?) two different Nameccian factions. The Dragon family doesn't necessarily define any of them as being Warrior or Healer type. Either type could be capable of creating Dragonballs.
Anyway, the whole thing is explained in the Daizenshû.
