Do you prefer the wacky adventures of Dragon Ball and early GT, or the high speed action of Z and everything else?

It really isn't tbh.
The pre-Freeza part is, anyway, and it's less of an adventure and more like the world's deadliest game of Cat and Mouse

I can see how someone can think it is, since it is the gang going on a galaxy wide adventure to find the DB (espeically if one is considering the anime).

ad·ven·ture
noun. An unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity.
verb. Engage in hazardous and exciting activity, especially the exploration of unknown territory.

Going on a quest to an unknown territory (Namek) to search for the dragon balls while facing unusual and hazardous experiences sounds like the exact definition of adventure but maybe that's just me.

Although because of his mention of early GT and DB I thought the kid was referring to "venture" kind of adventures.
In that case I believe Namek will also qualify, for being a literal journey and all.

I mean, I like adventure done well and I like action done well. Which is why I hate GT lol

I like both, but after so much fighting in Z, I do like some slower GT adventure stuff. That's why I hope the new movie is more of an adventure than boring face punching, there's plenty of that already in modern Dragon Ball.

I think both. Just high speed action like the Cell arc is fine, but I like it more when there's adventure involved as well, like in the Namek arc. Of course, it can backfire, the Granola arc has both, and while it's not over and it has been improving, it hasn't been great overall. But you also have the FT arc that is great for the most part, having the best of both worlds. The RR army arc also excels at this.

Just adventure doesn't really work for me, early GT is enjoyable but it could've used more action (better action I should say), same goes for the Pilaf arc.

If I have to choose one, I guess it's high speed action.

It's the prolonged stealth mission.
