Are you sure? From what I recall Toonami UK didn't air much of Dragon Ball Z in 2005, the first half of the Imperfect Cell was repeated constantly. I don't recall any movie marathons, the first couple of movies shown in May of that year were aired in two timeslots, but the stuff they showed later like the original Dragon Ball movies and the TV specials just had one timeslot. As I recall all the movies and specials aired on the 'Destination Friday' block but they didn't have reruns. I certainly don't remember a movie marathon. Imperfect Cell saga, I think was rerun maybe one more time that summer but sadly there was not much other than that.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

I can actually confirm this happened. I'm pretty sure it was the very last time Z aired. It had already been off the air for a few weeks at that point, but briefly returned for that one weekend.

It was part of a DBZ movie marathon they had, which also included the DB movies and GT special. This was shortly after the GT special made its debut on Destination Friday in the Sumner.

They would air the movies, with completely random episodes of Westwood era Z slotted in between. I remember them airing Gohan's first date, the episode were Goku surrenders to Cell, and the episode were Vegeta starts fighting Perfect Cell. I think there were others but can't remember which.

I remember getting my hopes up that Z would return for good, but it never aired again. Part of the reason I felt hopeful was the endless "Bring back DBZ" requests during the Teen Titans text marathon.

I only recall hearing about the original Dragon Ball movies and GT special once. Going by this thread it seems the former started being aired at the end of July and the latter premiered August 19th. I don't recall either having reruns, but I could be wrong. I remember wanting to watch the GT special again, only to be disappointed as I couldn't find a way unless I imported the DVD.

I do remember Z movies 7-9 and the two TV specials aired in the October, but after that no Dragon Ball content aired on Toonami UK again, or indeed any Turner-owned channel ever since.

Do you remember the Sky Q&As? I don't recall anything about them, but apparently that show also got a lot of messages asking for Dragon Ball Z to return, which says a lot about how popular it was.

I definitely remember the DB movies being rerun as part of the marathon, and I want to say the GT special also aired again that weekend. It was a long time ago but I'm pretty sure it aired. Again this would have been shortly after the initial airing.

After this I don't think anything else aired until Movie 7 made its debut in October. By the time we got movies 7-9 and the Z specials, I'm pretty sure none of the previously aired movies/specials ever aired again. I definitely remember movies 7-9 airing again in January 2006 though. This would have been right before Toonami underwent its major overhaul (for the worse).

I don't remember the Sky Q&As at all sadly.

Watched it everyday then it just stopped and only when they did the movie marathon the episodes returned. They went mad trying to shove Pokémon repeats in lieu of it.

I browsed through Amazon recently, and I noticed that both the Blue Bricks and even the Orange Bricks are difficult to order now. At least it seems to not be promptly avaliable anymore in brand new, unopened state.

I have the entire GT series (the Green Bricks? I don't recall what they used to be called), but I am missing the last Orange Brick (yes, Season Nine) and I own only ONE of the Blue Bricks (the first one), which I bought back in freaking 2011.

Long story short, what has happened? Are the FUNimation "Bricks" no longer widely available? Are they still in print, or have gone out of print, like the FUNi DBZ Dragon Boxes? Can we still buy them in "new" state?!

I hope the intent of this thread's question is clear. :)

Cheers!

Amazon is your best bet to grab the Blue Bricks. Just make sure they fit your DVD region and you should be okay. Hope this helps ya out.

Yeah, I think that's probably the case. But what about those of us who are fans and/or collectors of PHYSICAL releases (DVD and Blu-ray, mostly)? Are we to be simply written off and neglected henceforth?

Thanks!

I browsed superficially through it, and it appears to be a very useful link.
