Wanted to bring back some life into this topic since it has been a while since the last time anything was discussed on here. Since then, Shin (now Nahare) has been confirmed to be a Glind, a Demon Realm species. So now all Kaioshin are demonic in origin. In episode 2, it was mentioned that not all beings with pointy ears are demons, but you can assume that most are. Along with the fact that a lot of Demon Realm races fled the Demon Realm in a mass exodus long ago, I think it is safe to say that a lot of these characters could be demonic in origin. I like to think this was a fun lore tidbit Toriyama threw in to give potential extra flavor to any characters we might want to classify as demons, hence the open-endedness. It feels sort of like a game of "is this character a demon now?" I think it breathes new life into some of these older characters as they become re-contextualized.

It's also important to note that having demonic origins doesn't mean said races are demons anymore.

They may have intermingled with mortal races and made new species entirely, or otherwise simply lived in the Universe so long that they essentially became new mortal races like with the Namekians.
