You rock Tanooki Kuribo. Thanks for your info on this set. That 24 page book is nice but the info is all wrong. Gotta love where FUNi got those images from. Never seen some of them before.
As for the audio clip, man, it does sound kinda of funky to hear that great Japanese BGM with these loud and lame English voice actors.

Yeah, the picture of Bulma in the book is from the Buu Saga, yet this is the Saiyan saga?
Also, what I saw was cool, the audio languages, english with funi music, english with jap music and jap with jap music, I can switch between on the fly, it just changes mid-show as I select it. Probably something you can only do in a DVD program like PowerDVD and not on the TV set. I'm not sure as I've actually never owned a DVD player, just DVD drives/burners.
The subtitles don't match the english dub, they're direct translations of the Japanese version. Unless I'm mistaken, and there are subtitles for the english dub, you only get the Japanese translation. Not that that's completely a bad thing, it's just something I noticed when I turned on the subtitles during the Nappa fight and unexpectedly saw Goku call Nappa a bastard.
I could get an audio clip, but I'd need a place to host it, guess I'll try YouTube.

Simple or not I just think they're ugly. *shrugs*Saiyan Combat wrote:i think the menus are fine, they suit the box arts simplicity.
if it was all sophisticaled, it wouldnt go with the simple style of the box set art.
Those screens, though...forgive me for actually saying something positive about this set, but the resolution is pretty impressive. If you forget the fact that you're missing picture, on the up side it lacks grain, and even if the colors aren't quite the same, at least they look normal (rather than super-saturated).
I still stand my ground, but it's interesting to see some actual screens. Thoughts?

In the booklet under Tienshinhann's species it says hes a descendent of the three eyed people...
Yea, honestly it looks a lot better then I thought it would. Iam not saying it looks better cropped but, it sure as hell looks good.after seeing those screens I'm actually encouraged. Those look great, and in motion

Thanks for the pics and clip. Am I the only one who thinks that "LAST TIME ON DRAGON BALL ZEEE" sounds awkward over the Japanese recap music? I'll still watch the JPN/ENG dub once or twice, but I think I'll stick with the Japanese dub.
I have to see that! I though they fucked up the book at its worst during the timeline part.

I guess we feel that it's awkward because we're used to having the japanese narration coming from wiser sounding old man. FUNi made Dale Kelly and Kyle Hebert try to do "monster truck announcer" voices for their dub music.fps_anth wrote:Thanks for the pics and clip. It would be GREAT if Brice Armstrong would do the narrations for the dub with the japanese music. He was awesome in the original DB.
