And never dub it in a foreign language! Seriously, the voice-acting was the worst I've ever heard. (And I thought Pioneer's dub and the "Big Green"-stuff sounded bad...)bkev wrote:Yeah, but "DE SAIYA PEOPLE" sounds worse than Saiyan to me; lesson here is, never use litteral translations! The Lecherous Muten Roshi wrote:The script is much more accurate than FUNi's.

Is there anything wrong with that? It did have some good parts (good script, original music, pronouncing "Kaioken" properly) but I didn't really like the voices. Although I don't really like the dub, I think the current FUNI voices sound a bit better, with the exception of Piccolo.MajinVejitaXV wrote:You thought Pioneer sounded bad?

Dude, seriously, have you seen the redub work on DBZ movies 2 and 3? In comparison to the Pioneer dubs, they're rushed and horrible pieces of trash at best. DBZ movie 1's redub was the only one I can actually stand to watch, and that's only because FUNi's work on this one was actually kinda decent and accurately done. Movies 2 and 3...oh dear Lord, the voice direction paled in comparison to the Pioneer dubs (I dare you to listen to Sean Schemmel's ice breaking "Kayoken" in comparison to Peter Kelamis' "KAIIII-OOO-KEnnnnn...!") and then there's the writing, movie 2's is just ridiculously less accurate when FUNi already had a full script compliments of Pioneer, and then there's movie 3's; it was like a copy-pasting of the 97 edit-televised dub (that's a very bad thing, especially considering the voice direction is pretty lousy anyway). Need I even bring in Nathan Johnson's HORRID music score? When you have dubs like Pioneer's memorized and pop in the rescore of these redubs, I could actually sit through Menza's work on the movie 1 redub, but Nathan Johnson's random "I'll put this here and this there" attitude just killed the redubs of movies 2 and 3. I guarantee, watch the movie 2 redub scene of Gohan's daydream when "Piccolo-san, I-I, love you!" should be playing, and you'll probably literally wanna throw up (I came close to doing so) at the completely idiotic and retarded Spaniord/whatever-the-fuck-it-is score Johnson comes up with for that sequence. My God, his score is almost as bad in movie 3, at one point it's actually so loud that it mutes the dub VAs while they're talking.Vegard Aune wrote:Is there anything wrong with that? No, I haven't seen the redub, and I'll propably never watch it either. I'm thinking of getting the First Strike box, but that's just for the subs. And my main problem with the Pioneer voices isn't the acting. I just don't like Peter Kelamis's Goku voice. Although that might just be because Sean Schemmel's dub voice is the one that I'm used to hearing for the dub, and therefore I'm just not used to the other one.Conan the SSJ wrote:*Long description of redub*Vegard Aune wrote:*My reasons for not liking Pioneer's voices*
Now can we drop this completely off-topic discussion of which dubs I don't like? It's kinda pointless...
