Nothing, Disney releases are generally of the highest quality. I think he's just saying that even the crappiest Disney shows get quality releases, while a piece of classic Japanese animation gets shit on.
What I was refering to was how the release of some of their tv shows had problems. The release of Ducktales, Rescue Rangers and their other late 80s/early 90s series were clearly not remastered, and have some dirt and scratches on them. Not too awful, but enough to be noticable(I dunno about shows from earlier or later, but I'll grant that they may be better, quality-wise). Plus, in the case of DT and RR, their 5-part pilot episodes were not included on the first set, which led to a lot of complaing. And so the second set for both had the pilots, and it's printed on the box in screaming capital letters... and this is also printed on the set for Talespin and Darkwing Duck, which has... the edited episode version of their pilots(as opposed to the "tv-movie" version). So Disney screwed up again there. Though even in this case, the problem affects only a handful of episodes, and the rest at least don't have any weird shit going on, as is the case with the FUNi boxsets.

DIsney's TV's sets really can be sort of underwhelming, especially Gargoyles, in which because the second set sold slightly less than season 1, they decided to cut off any future releases.

Really? Here I thought they were just taking a year in between each set. How disappointing.

Well, there goes the last little bit of what had the potential to be hope.

Well, it's been a year and a few months since the last release, and Greg Weisman has basically been begging people to get the word out about buying the second set in order to throw some financial hints at Disney.

well... being in Mexico, I seen both FUNI 'Saga de Vegeta' boxes, and while I didn't buy em cause I already own the American versions AND the season box set.... from the back of the package it comes in Spanish and Japanese in regular stereo and English in 5.1 dolby sound. It's practically the exact same UUE except for Mexico, and also the first one doesn't include the interview with Sean and Chris, which I guess makes sense since Mexican fans wouldn't know (or care) who the hell they are anyway.

A friend of mine did buy them and liked the eps, though he asked me 'wtf is up with the American version and all the stupid rock music? Any why is the opening theme all red? I thought I bought a pirated disk or something.'

Y'know, without having anything that plays Region 2 DVDs and with FUNimation releasing this 16:9 crap it gets really hard to not buy bootlegs.

Actually, not that hard. I can buy Wii games instead. But, still, I want a decent Dragonball Z release!

There ARE alternatives, you know. You just have to forgo English subtitles, because honestly, the bootleg subs are pretty dumb. It's almost not even worth watching the show with them on.
