It's too early to really say anything. All I really know is that I don't think we'll be recording the podcast episode at AnimeNEXT the same way we did last year... it'll probably be in the con, itself, in some capacity...

But again, it's too early to really get into anything. More to come.

Just a newbie question here, how big of a part has dragonball played at conventions in the past few years? If I am not into any other anime, is it worth my time to go?

Not much from what I've seen. Occasionally they'll play one of the movies (usually in relation to whatever new has come out from FUNimation), and Mike and the crew do panels related to the series such as the "DBZ You've Never seen!" one that the site has a feature on. Other than that, I haven't seen all that much Dragonball related stuff focused on at cons at all :/

In that case count me out. I actually really dislike all other anime's. DBZ is the only one I can handle.

Not to go off topic horribly, but what other anime has given you such a harsh perspective?

I don't think it's harsh, I just don't like a lot of anime. One Piece is one of the worst things I have ever read, Naruto is pointless.

I could go on and on. But lets just say I am picky when it comes to anime.

...okay then. Granted, you named two I wouldn't put anywhere near my favorites, but to me that's like saying you don't like any music because you heard Britney Spears and N'Sync O_o;;

I'll make sure DBZ stuff is shown at AWA this year. :)

...Anybody from here attending Anime North (in Canada) on May 25th-27th? We've got a Freeza/Zarbon/Gohan/Piccolo cosplay group happening!

Well, since I'm on the West coast, there's no way I'll be able to get to the cons mentioned in the first post. However, I will be able to make Fanime in California on at least one of the days (it's from May 25-27).

You know, I just might hit that up. It has come to my attention that a screening of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya will be shown at the conference.

Pwnage.

Kind of a newbish question, but I checked through the schedule for fanime and found that FUNi's got a panel there that's open to questions. Should I expect them to answer the questions (more specifically about their DBZ season sets) with a straight answer? Though, I'm sure I'd end up asking them anyways just to see...

Actually, the FUNimation people actually seem... pretty cool. I know it sounds bizarre but, even If there time runs out at there panel or something they usually stay outside answering peoples questions.

 Well, that's a relief. With my preconceptions of them, I was already ready to give 'em a bad time. Nice to see I don't have to, though.

I was wondering, regarding these anime conventions, are we gonna meet up at a certain time/place? If so, when/where?

I'm asking this too early, aren't I...

I should be going to AnimeNext. Only on Saturday though, like always.
Any big guests announced for it yet?
