Well I can never really tell if someone online is being sarcastic or not, due to the fact I an't hear their voice, but I was also being sarcastic.

Nah, I'm not that dumb. Or insensitive. But I have SEEN it happen, right in front of my eyes. Not pretty.

I was also under the impression that the F word was the worst word in the English language, or American English at least. I've never really heard anyone use cunt so I don't know much about that. Though like Liam said, about some words are looked at differently in other countries. For example, I've read that in words like "bugger" and "bollocks" which sound funny to Americans and can be said as much as possible on US tv, get censored in UK versions. There's also the whole deal with the full title of Austin Powers 2.

It's not that "bollocks" is less offensive to Americans. It's more that they don't know what it means. At least, they didn't until some British imports introduced the word to them.

It does remind me of that episode of DS9 where O'Brien shouted out "bollocks" at one moment of tension. Which was originally censored when it was first shown over here, but isn't anymore (they seemed to have altered TV censorship laws sometime in 2000). It made me cheer, though.

If you want an example, then there's "snigger", which is perfectly acceptable over here, but has been censored to "snicker" in the US to avoid making people go crazy mad.

And there was an episode of The Powerpuff Girls where "I got the little bugger" was censored. It really is a very, very mild swear word, but it still is one. Oh, and they took a "crap" out of an episode of Dexter's Lab, but I honestly can't see how it was kept in even in the US.

But in any case, "cunt" is easily the most offensive word in US, Canadian, British and Australian English. In fact, "motherfucker" is more offensive than "fuck". According to scientists! And they must be right.

By this logic, "Cuntfucker" (or maybe "Mother's cunt fucker" if you're willing to accept multiple words like that*) must be the most offensive term evar.

*I doubt you're willing to do that, because then you could string so many words together that it would be impossible to remember as the most offensive. Or, something.

I am functioning on little sleep!

*cough*

I think that "motherfucker" actually counts as it's own word though, whereas "cuntfucker" would be two seperate words jammed together.

And, y'know, I can see how it might not be considered so offensive. "Cunt fucking" is, after all, what all heterosexual people do while having sex. "Motherfucker" though usually means, er, "you fuck mothers", or possibly "you fuck your own mother". And that's worse. Obviously.

I've never found "cunt" too offensive, but I bet if you called a lady that, she'd knock you over backwards.

And bugger is profanity? o_O News to me. I've seen shows that were considered kid shows in England use it... And I don't know what the deuce a Bollocks is, except for the fact that it was the name of one of the vice-principals at my high school.

But anyway... I have heard things such as "kusou" in DBZ, but not as often as the subtitles would have you believe.

"deuce"? How on earth does that make sense in that sentence?

And bugger is extremely mild profanity, but still (just about) profanity. It does refer to a not overly pleasant act, after all.

Anyway, bollocks: Usually used as a term of annoyance, or to deride someone for saying something stupid. "George Bush is a good president." That's bollocks". Specifically, it refers to the male testicles.

Dayspring does raise a good point though: Almost all offensive words are based around sex or sexual organs. And the most offensive usually relate to women. "Shit" and "crap" being the notable exceptions.

In english anyway. Imagine calling someone who learned english as a third language an asshole. It would be funny to watch them try and picture a hole floating around in space that leaks shit.

I don't know. I think it's pretty self explanatory. It's not like anyone is unaware that they have a hole in their ass.

But you're not calling them the ass itself, just the hole. And a hole is an absense like empty space is (or "isn't" if you wanna be technical).

You know it's not funny once you have to explain the joke. I hope you're happy, Liam. :x

Yeah, but if you call a guy a pussy, or a girl a dick, they're still offended. And I've been called a cunt a couple of times.
"deuce"? How on earth does that make sense in that sentence?
Might I introduce you to one "Stewie Griffin"?

"Deuce" is somehow a euphemism for "devil" when used as an expletive. Been around for centuries, and only recently re-popularized by Family Guy.

In case you're interested, "diantre" works the same way in French (as in "que diantre" rather than "que diable").
