Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

He actually says that? When?
Anyway, it's unlikely that Seripa is Kakarot's mother First because it's never stated by anyone and second, it was mentioned that Kakarot was born the day before the special took place, and even if you're a Saiyan, giving birth is really exhausting. So if Seripa was the mother, she shouldn't be able to go on missions.
SSJ3 Gotenks says it upon leaving a battle when you switch characters.
As for Seripa going on a mission after birth, two words: Regen Tank.

Besides, birth may not be as big a pain for Saiya-jins.
But, as you said, it's never mentioned or hinted at so it's not likely. Though, I still say she and Videl are related... XD

Bardock the Mexican wrote:I think the whole thing with Bardock's "novía" being the mother of Goku is sort of a kind of "trying to make a reason" throwup reason. I mean who would Bardock be with most of the time? If she is on his crew that can be read into to mean that they probably did it and that's that. I might have been talking out my ass that last post. Ignore what I said and it's probably not true. Bardock probably screwed some girl in one of the bars on some planet like Planet Vegetasei or some other one.
I've sometimes wondered if there wasn't probably something like sex slavery, prostitution, or breeding females being practiced on the planet. You don't see any females except for Seripa, and a few background females in the special. Maybe only the strongest females are allowed to do planet trading while the rest are used for breeding as said. Since Bardock didn't seem to give a shit about Goku's birth, who knows, unless a mate of his died and that was one reason. There are many.

Sure it does. >> The image on the first page isn't the best Seripa image but it's decent enough. Look at it and compare it to images of Videl! They look a lot alike!

Wasn't rap music played when Bardock went to fight Freeza?
Toma - Tora
Seripa - Fasha
Panbuukin - Shugesh
Totepo - Borgos
I don't remember what was played as far as the music. I know it wasn't Solid State Scouter.
ReiMehari fix your fucking avatar. It's 80x80 for a reason.
I don't have the video anymore, but I think it was some kind of rock music. Didn't watch it on tv, but heard they replaced it with music from the series there, and heard some guys say they thought it was better then.

Yeah, a modified version of it: "Don' cha wish your girlfriend was
tough like me, don' cha." Thought that was hilarious first time I heard it. They slipped a pop culture refrence in with someone else too, I think. Maybe it was Jeice, I can't remember....
They made a reference to that? Ewwwwww, just ewwwwwwww. >>

That was established from day one, actually.
I just researched it and found that out. TO\o late to fix the orignal post. Thanks though.
It's strange this hero thing. Whole lives devoted completely to helping others. For no financial reward whatsoever. Struggling ceaselessly against impossible odds, risking almost certain death to help those in trouble. I...I just hope its not catching, yes?

How was it established? I certainly don't remember Sauza saying "And cousin Jeice was among them" or anything like that. Was it in the Daizenshuu? Which, if it were, doesn't seem like it'd be "from day one" since the events of the movie would be that.

You could always just say "Please fix your avatar", talking like ya'd did borders being pretty harsh. >>

Say what? Was that in the movie daizenshuu? In daizenshuu 7 all we learn is that Sauzaa speaks over 6000 or 7000 languages. If I were to lump him in any race, I'd toss Sauza with Zarbon's race.

Now that I think of it, a point of confusion with the names is that Bardock's crew are a few of the DB/DBZ characters whose names were changed that wasn't that close to the original. About everyne else with a different name was pretty darn close to their original name.

Oh and if SERIPA is actually going to be in DB SM, that'd be super sweet.
Sounds cool, but what is this "DB SM"?
And not to sound rude Magica - are you mod here?

Which is kind of silly, unless they couldn't think of any names that made them sound too close to vegetables like they sort of already were. Tora would probably be the closest even though it's Japanese for Tiger, but I have no idea where they thought up the other ones.

It could've been, but it definately was worse than Solid State Scouter, especially during the Meet battle.
No, I'm not a mod, and I was irritated last night haveing to read posts with a 400x500 or so image stretching the board pages. Let it go. =/

I'm thinking maybe they thought they sounded corny, kind od how some Pokemon's Japanese names were just regular English words, and were thus changed.

I don't really see that as being it. I mean, the kept BUU in, and that's more corny than Bardock's crew....

I believe that was established in Weekly Jump, back when the movie was released.
