How weak was the average Saiyan?

True, but the whole point of Vegeta's ego over being royalty is that no other Saiya-jin has that kind of power. So I figure the King has to be somewhere that even the Super Elites wouldn't have been able to touch. I suppose it's possible, but the royals are supposed to be the utmost of Saiya-jin might. And if Nappa only hit 8,000 in 40+ years I can't see him being much mor than 6,000 when Planet Vegeta blew up.

It could've been meant that Vegeta surpassed the King's power when he was 14-16, in this light there doesn't have to be a comparison when they were both alive. Say the King was at 10,000, it simply meant Vegeta went over 10,000 at age 14.

I always believed that the average Saiyan was probably around 2500; or 3000 tops.
The thing that makes Saiyans so strong is their durability.

And the Oozaru. A 3,000 level Saiyan becomes stronger than Zarbon if he goes Oozaru.
