It's Goku becoming an SSJ in the trailer, but not the actual episode, right? :D
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Exactly. It seems like he goes Giji in the actual ep. A very weird change. To be honest, given that Goku was an FPSSJ, and the form takes next to know effort for him, I think the ep is the one with the actual animation goof. To be honest, I don't even see why Goku would need to power up at all to beat the Ginyu.

Interesting. I guess this is more proof that the animators were on a pretty tight schedule and making stuff like last minute color changes. And this was before computers were introduced in animating, right?

... But I still don't see what's wrong with just taking some kind of season break to avoid the crappier animators. But that's another topic entirely .

Goku powers up at all when he didn't even need the Kaioken to defeat them the first time?

Yeah, i don't think they were doing computer animation at that point (although I've heard that a couple of DBZ movies have had minor computer animation)
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

That's expecting a bit too much continuity out of filler :p

My excuse is that he may have expected a sneak attack by Cell or Frieza prior to Pikkon's whooping of them, so he had to be on his guard.

That, and he wanted to scare Freeza a little bit.

I never understood that at all, I always thought that they used the same footage for the preview to the next episode as they did in the actual show. Doesn't make much sense.

In that case, it takes me back to the teaser making more sense than the actual episode. Giji (the closest thing what he does resembles, though not exactly as it appeared in movie 4), aside from being non-canon (not that this ever stops filler, but it is out of context with the main series). is imperfect. Goku went to great lengths to make the SSJ transformation completely natural.

Kaio-ken would have been a decent alternative, and of course going SSJ would have both gotten him ready for a bout with Cell and scared the crap out of Freeza and Cold.

But... I have to give the scene props for being really badass, non-sensical psuedo transformations aside :p

Seriously, during her fight with Vegeta when they're fighting on top of the cars, there's a shot where she's riding away on top of a car and she suddenly isn't wearing the tights/leggings that she usually does. Maybe she tried to distract Vegeta by flashing him the goods? (Would have worked against Krillin :P)

「どう?アタシの脚が好き?」
「貴様!このべジータ様を舐めているのかよ!でも好き...

Eh, corny joke. (Hope I even typed that correctly XD)

That's odd, though. I'm assuming that scene was pretty short though.

The site posted earlier was pretty good. Never thought about the whole Pilaf thing in GT. What's sad is that it's not like the Buu saga ended long before GT started. I think they had enough time to realize something that just happened . Guess they just wanted to milk the series for what it's worth and it worked...for about a year or so 'till it got canceled.

Also...the # 18 and Vegeta thing is weird :? .

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Yeah she totally is. She wanted a little royalty in her.

I ran the text through google translate and got “How? Favorite leg of [atashi]?”
“Your way! It is dense, whether expressing and having licked the [jita] way! So favorite.”
So I dunno.

There are some (like me) who will argue that Pilaf may well have not been considered truly "evil" because he's such an ineffectual dipshit. In other words, while his intentions may be bad, his stupidity renders him so harmless he could also be considered "non-threatening" and thus have been exempt from the wish.

I agree that it's a flimsy excuse that's totally up for debate, but looking over Pilaf's history as a villain... the worst thing he ever did was release Daimao (and even that wound up having beneficial effects that far outweighed the negatives in the long run). Overall I could buy it, but I can also understand why others might not.
I don't think one's effectiveness at pursuing evil goals determines whether or not they are considered evil. Just cuz he sucks at villainy doesn't make him an honorary good guy.

"So? Do you like my legs?"
"Why, you! Are you trying to mock me, Vegeta-sama!? But, yes, I do."

Like I said, a corny joke. (At least I know I typed it correctly...or as correctly as I could. I was wondering if I used the right form of あし.)

That Google translation is hilarious. XD

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but in the manga, when Gero first shows up and starts tearing apart that one guy's car, he doesn't have the jewel in his palm.
