I say watch that first because it's greatness on it's own.

Zing

PS. The dragon looks scared shitless.

Tanooki, do they even have a fight at the end? And if so, how long does it last?
Yea, they still fight but now its in CGI. It last for maybe a half a minute then changes to random poses of CGI Goku and Yamcha. :?
Ah, that sucks. It would've been cool to see a full battle between them.

Hey, at least they didn't list it as one of the "Special Features."

I have the original. One of the best comedies I've ever seen.

Do I read "5.1 Surround" in the back ? :o
Because that may be considered as "something new" too...

(Looks like they really tried hard to turn that "movie" into something watchable...)

So I got mine today and watched a few parts...

It reminds me a lot of the original Star Wars and the remastered editions. There's tons of new special effects everywhere. While some look better, some look really fake and plastered on there. Roshi has some weird CGI turtle head for his appearance and it morphs back into his real head.

I don't really think a classic like this really needed all these additions, but I guess it's good for some laughs.

The good thing is that you can hear the greatness of the original cantonese version (I know the Mandarin version actually has different sound mixing) where the mouth movements actually match.

The names in the subs are weird like Son Goham while "Goku" is correct. I haven't watched far enough to see the names of the other characters.

I would actually recommend watching the original version first and if you can't get enough of it, get the new remastered version. Although the new effects kind of take away the "classic" feel of the movie. :P

So yeah, pick it up. :)

Not because i want them so badly, but because i can't really afford to buy all of the older releases. Hell,i only buy the sets for the Japanese music. Most of my money goes to bills though.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Ha! That's like comparing apples to oranges. I suppose both products are similar in the fact that their presentation is atrocious. But what the Chinese film has going for it that FUNimations "remastered" boxsets do not, is comedic, and perhaps nostalgic appeal. So yeah when you say that it is worse than FUNimations "remastering" process, I would have to disagree. I can enjoy viewing that far more than viewing the cropped pile of shit FUNimation is trying to sell to me.
