They really should of continued this series. There was no reason to dis-continue it.I would of liked to see Green-Namek covers...
Or else I'm insane.

I'm from aus too, i didnt realize that they werent releasing dual audio until that late in the series. so the american versions have the japanese audio from the beginning is that right? also, are these the ones youre talking about?Captain Awesome wrote:Tell me about it, if GT was as convoluted purchase-wise as Z is, I wouldn't bother getting it.Slickmasterfunk wrote:I just think it's hilarious that out of the three series, Dragon Ball GT is the only one that has had a proper uncut, fullscreen release with selectable japanese language tracks and accurate Steve Simmons subtitles.
You Americans have it better, we get dual audio consistantly at the end of the Great Saiyaman arc
After buying the 3 Buu boxes, apart from the odd single here and there in the cell/androids saga, that is all of the dual language releases (not counting the movies, season sets and UUE's) you can get here in Australia.
Though I did get the last Z box for cheap today (Merry Christmas to me!)

Why was that not the Season 1 cover?SuperSaiyan3Goku wrote:There was supposed to be another volume, but it wasn't released. It was going to be the beginning of Goku and Vegeta's fight.

Yeah, the dubbed that part I'm pretty sure, but it was for Canadian viewers. I know they Ocean eventually dubbed the Majin Buu Saga, so I don't see why they wouldn't have dubbed Ginyu/Frieza Sagas as well.
That said, I dunno if that's what those are or not though.

Whoops missed that. Hmm...well Ginyu and Frieza in the US would be either 11 or 12 DVDs. Wow... That's good I guess. But are they uncut? I guess I automatically thought they were Ocean dub because I'm used to FUNimation and Ocean dub came out with something that looked like that for the Namek Saga. Sorry my mistake.

Yeah but FUNimation doesn't have anything to do with the Spanish dub. I mean sure, it's featured on the Ultimate Uncut, but that's about it. Unless they bought the Spanish dubs. I remember watching the Spanish dubs when they were still showing Ocean dubs. It would be as if they would release the Japanese version of the show. Just because they feature it ONLY on Ultimate Uncut, doesn't mean anything. I don't get what they're trying to do. I mean they didn't even finish coming out with all of Ultimate Uncut in Spanish. Imagine how many years it'll take for them to release the whole thing, if they were going in that direction? Least they could've done was put the Spanish dub AND SUBTITLES (which they forgot to do on Ultimate Uncut lol) in the Season sets. But they would sell it to me even better if they had an Ocean dub version on their Season sets too. Ohs well. What can ya do.

No, apparently the Freeza-arc was the one part that Ocean DIDN'T dub. The Ocean-dub shown in Canada and the UK started with the Trunks-episodes.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Yeah, the dubbed that part I'm pretty sure, but it was for Canadian viewers. In the USA, from Captain Ginyu onwards, they were given a dual language release.
For reasons unknown to us, when madman distributed those dvd's over here, the ditched the Japanese language track, so every boxset until the Buu saga, is dub only here, apart from the odd dvd being dual language in the Cell/androids saga.
So basically if you're looking for dual language boxsets in 4:3 here of Dragonball there's the Ultimate Uncuts, the 3 Buu box sets, all of GT, and all of the movies (although the first movie boxset here is the old pioneer releases we didn't get first strike) and also all of Dragonball collected in two boxes.
Dragonball Z is even more impossible to get here (in 4:3) than in the US, it's annoying because there isn't a single good reason to drop a language track on a dvd already authored in another country.

FUNi's DBZ movie 5 release also has the Spanish dub, albeit with its own English translated subtitle track. Also, keep in mind this is the Mexican-Spanish dub, not the Spain-Spanish dub. There's a considerable population in the US as well whom speak Spanish and also a portion out there whom have much love for this dub, Spanish-speaking or not (such as our own Mike/EX). Anywho, the Spanish dub is so incredibly accurate to the Japanese version, it's very easy to make do with the Japanese version's subs for episodes 1-27 on the UUE DVDs. It's not a big deal and frankly, I don't see what your problem is with it. Other anime have had multiple language options beyond English dubs and Japanese, it's not like FUNi made a bad call with DBZ for the few material Spanish was included in.TheGreatness25 wrote:Yeah but FUNimation doesn't have anything to do with the Spanish dub. thanks for clearing that up Captain Awesome. back on topic

these may have only been released in australia for all i know. they are uncut. they include the uncut singles that were released with 3 eps on them, grouped into boxes. but i dont think all of them have the japanese audio. plus they only started making these from the namek saga upwards, so they would have continued on from the ultimate uncuts if funi had released them all.
they say uncut on the dvds and the box, so I'm guessing they arent the ocean dub. heres more box sets from the 'series collections' as they are called.TheGreatness25 wrote:Whoops missed that. those two boxsets DO have the Japanese audio, those are two out of the three Buu saga box sets, I have no idea if they are available in the US in boxes like that, but they are reasonably priced ($70-$75) (compared to paying like $25 for the singles)pledge wrote: these may have only been released in australia for all i know. they are uncut. they include the uncut singles that were released with 3 eps on them, grouped into boxes. but i dont think all of them have the japanese audio. plus they only started making these from the namek saga upwards, so they would have continued on from the ultimate uncuts if funi had released them all.
I've got both of those on order at my local comic book store, can't wait to get them, because it means If I do choose to keep going with the season sets, I only have to go until the end of the Great Saiyaman saga.
In the US we got boxzed sets for the buu era for "world tournament", "Babidi", "Majin Buu", "Fusion" and "Kid Buu" series of discs (see the DVD guide on the site @ http://www.daizex.com/guides/dvd_guide/ ... ndex.shtml for more info there). "Great Saiyaman" never got a boxed set oddly enough.
