Why aren't any of the Saiyans' mothers shown in the series?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Not if the Saiyans are patrilineal. If they are, then Kakarot is considered only descended from his father.

- She was the only female on his crew

- Everyone who wasn't in his crew was shown to look down their noise at Bardock's crew so unless young Kakarrot was conceived during some Saiyan style pity sex it eliminates the rest.

- She was the one who kept telling him to go see his son, Like she had personal involvement in it.

But that is just a little theory of mine
I don't think the fact that she was the only female member of Bardock's crew is good enough proof. That's like saying the cake you baked that went missing was taken by your uncle because he's the only fat member of your family.

The only ones that looked down their noses at Bardock's crew where Freeza and his lot, who aren't even Saiyajins. And they looked down on the entire race as a whole. I don't know where you got the idea that other Saiyajins regarded them that way, but if it's from that scene in the bar where Bardock tried to warn them all, they laughed at him because they thought what he was saying was crazy, nothing more than that.

Just because Seripa kept telling him to go see his son(and really it was only one short scene, it's not like she kept telling him all through the special), doesn't equal proof either. A teammate, friend, co-worker *can* make statements like that too you know. Plus don't you think she would have at least once said, "our son" when she made those remarks? Pretty odd she didn't in my mind if they're both the parents.

Yeah You're probably right (by the way   at only fat member comment) like i said it's just my theory that is most likely wrong

:?

Are you going to say that's the reason for him being born so weak too?

I think (hope) juoppo was just joking, Mike.... :?

That's Mike D to you my good sir/ma'am/other...

And I know juoppo was just joking (it's obvious), but can't I ask a legitimate question? How don't you know if I were joking? The statement actually doesn't sound that far fetched. Whose not saying that Goku couldn't be the original half-breed (which could explain for so much of his progress; Vegeta didn't get that kind of love)? But then this makes Gohan and Goten quarter-Saiyan thus ultimately fucking over a lot of facts.

But it wasn't a bad statement. :)

I'm a chick, to save everyone who talks to me some typing....^_^" It never ceases to surprise me how many people think I might be a guy after reading my username; are there that many guys out there who go with rose themes?

On a more relevant note, I couldn't really tell if juoppo was joking or especially you; your emoticon had a kinda final note of skepticism to it, and as you well know, it's hard to convey humor, especially sarcastic humor, through text....

I was told a few years ago, that apparently there's some unwritten concept that everyone is assumed to be male on forums and stuff until stated otherwise. Makes no sense to me either though. :?

B-kun: "What?"

That's how I see it. Not to be rude or anything.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

And yet... back before I knew about Mexican slang, people seemed to tend to assume me to be a girl... :?

Umm... Saiyans lay eggs? That way the females can keep fighting?

There's also the unwritten concept everyone's assumed to be Caucasian as well unless stated.

Back on-topic, anyone else notice the swith concerning the Saiyans' mothers as usually in many anime series, it's the fathers who are never mentioned?
