Sparking to me was just a fun little distraction, kind of like how I wouldn't call "One Piece Grand Battle" a real fighting game, I wouldn't call "Dragonball Z:Sparking!" A real fighting game either. In the technical sense sure it's a fighting game but in the fandom I see it more as a show simulator or just a nice relaxing fun game to play and dick around with your friends on a Friday night, I find it hard to take Sparking the least bit seriously.Anonymous Friend wrote:It's not that Sparking required no skill. I think a lot of it is that fighting game fans wanted a more traditional fighting game and that wasn't Sparking.
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight

Yeah I was surprised. I personally think it gives it a little more strategy. It's not like Budokai where you knock them away, power up a little and repeat.Ex-Dubbie369 wrote:I'm quite impressed, just surprised that there's no real ki bar. Makes it much more fun to use ki attacks.
Oh, and has anyone figured out how to do a teleport counter on the 360 controller? Is it the same as Budokai 3 which was ki button plus a direction?
Yeah you do it by pressing forward and A, or X on PS3.
If you do the aura clash you can press LB (L1) again to teleport behind them. Once you knock them away you can keep pressing RT (R2) to ping pong them around.

I had a hard time with figuring out how much health I had left... Maybe it was just me.
Also it was to simplified, I can see why they used those controls on Shin Budokai as the psp has less buttons, but I liked the combo mashing instead of just being able to spam the kamehameha.
Yes I am upset they went back to the budokai style as I thought Sparking! had a much more open fele to it and I could really get into it.
Sparking! resembled the anime
Super Dragonball Z resembled the manga
Budokai resembled... Tekken?

But now you can just knock them away with no need to power up....DaRealChrono wrote:Yeah I was surprised. I personally think it gives it a little more strategy. You don't have to waste time any more. You can continue to attack. I didn't think that was hard to grasp.COCONUT MILK wrote:But now you can just knock them away with no need to power up....DaRealChrono wrote:Yeah I was surprised. That's like saying where is the strategy in attacking in Street Fighter, or in Tekken. The strategy comes from getting them into a position where you can combo them.COCONUT MILK wrote:But where is the strategy in attack attack attack.DaRealChrono wrote:You don't have to waste time any more. The demo was great... the "animation" style is the best yet, and it was just fun to play. I like the fact that the moves are getting progressively "easier"-- as opposed to having to do a mid-air dance to pull off a move, Raditz shot a ki blast, and I Kamehameha'd right back. The utter GLEE of being in a ki-overpowering fight on purpose was enough to make me want to buy this title.
Are we sure there will be a Japanese-language option on the United States release yet?

I was about 70% sure I was going to get this game before I played the demo, but based on how much fun it was, I went out and pre-ordered it as soon as I could.
For those of you who pre-ordered from Gamestop, did you get your shits/discs when you payed? They didn't have them in when I ordered mine on Sunday.

I think we'll be getting them once the game is released. My Gamestop mentioned nothing about it when I preordered mine.Daburcor wrote: For those of you who pre-ordered from Gamestop, did you get your shits/discs when you payed? They didn't have them in when I ordered mine on Sunday.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Thanks! This is the first time I've ever pre-ordered a game, and I didn't really know ow that stuff went.theoriginalbilis wrote:I think we'll be getting them once the game is released.
