Toonami Digital Arsenal: Original Dragonball Commercials
I got chills watching it. They showed it so much, and no matter how many times they did, it was awesome. It was like a commercial, but only not annoying.Chuquita wrote:Oh WOW! That "Dreams" one was amazing. Its been so long I'd forgotten about how cool Toonami used to be.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Toonami commercials have always been awesome (er at least before the big character remodeling). They've been stuff that I always wanted to be on an American Dragon Ball DVD release as some kind of "bonus extra." Even if you're not a dubbie you gotta admit that these commercials would be better welcomed as DVD extra than some kind of crap justifying the use of widescreen.
While the Digital Arsenal site's fine enough, I'm pretty sure most (if not all) of these commercials have been uploaded onto YouTube. The only real purpose for the site now is to have some kind of central place where people can see just how many commercials each Toonami show had over the course of their run on the air.

Hit the find key then search dreams. Under Middle Toonami.

I'm more pissed that CN cut back on Toonami to whore out Scooby, a dumb live-action show for middle schoolers, and a stupid Canadian cartoon about Kung-Fu chickens.DemonKingPiccolo wrote:I'm so pissed that they replaced DB and DBZ with Naruto and other things.
They said that if we keep watching, they'll keep showing.
We should sue for false advertising.
And look at CN's afternoon lineup now. I bet the ratings are high.Super Sonic wrote:I'm more pissed that CN cut back on Toonami to whore out Scooby, a dumb live-action show for middle schoolers, and a stupid Canadian cartoon about Kung-Fu chickens.DemonKingPiccolo wrote:I'm so pissed that they replaced DB and DBZ with Naruto and other things.

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

We don't even have Toonami in the UK anymore, It showed stuff like (As CNX, before changing into Toonami) Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, Sports Illustrated Calendar shoot at night, along with Asian, Action and Anime films (Triple A that was called...) and Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball Z in the Evening, Batman of the Future, Chris Colerado, Samurai Jack and Megas XLR during the day. Then they stopped showing all of that and replaced it with "Backyard Science!" and some shitty kids sitcom from the '90s that no one remembers, and even boomerang shows appeared on there. Since it got insanely low ratings, they turned it into Cartoon Network Too! When I was a kid I loved watching those channels, I would still if they showed anything good.Raki wrote:And look at CN's afternoon lineup now. I still love Scooby-Doo, but I hate "Funny for your Face". Not only are the rest of the shows crappy (well, Chowder is okay I guess...), the ad campaigns annoy me to NO end.

I'll try and put up a list of all of the videos that contain Dragonball clips that aren't located in the DB/Z/GT sections, just so that we can easily find all of the Dragonball videos scattered across the site, just give me some time, there seems to be a few.
Edit: Never mind, I can't. I've been temporarily reduced to a dial-up connection (48 kps download speed) and honestly I'm just too lazy to do all of that work, sorry.
