Man, Toonami used to be awesome. I used to love it. Everything from its promotional stuff, to the way it handled shows. I'm talking about when TOM first came to Toonami after Moltar. I used to love like every opener they did for DBZ. And Dragon Ball for that matter. GT's was...eh. And when they aired commercials advertising new episodes of DBZ, they were amazing and made you want to just...lose it lol Ah back in the day.

I don't care about DB/Z/GT because I have it all anyway, but if they were to play something like The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest (I wasn't a big fan of it when I was younger, I'd give it another go just to see), or Reboot (I effin love this show), I'd watch.

Toonami needs to be a channel, kind of like boomerang for all the back in the day carttoons. We could have dragonball/z/gt, gundam, sailor moon, reeboot [which was an awesome show] and other older toonami shows.

Am I wrong, or is Toonami the channel that really brought Anime to the United States? I mean they had Sailor Moon, Gundam series, Dragon Ball/Z/GT, Ronin Warriors, Rouroni Kenshin (probably incorrect spelling). Now yeah, Adult Swim had Case Closed, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Lupin, but Toonami had Anime before that. Even though Sailor Moon and DBZ were playing on other channels before Toonami, they were never as popular as Toonami made it. So do you think that Toonami is really the channel that made Anime popular in the US? And look at it now.

All kneel down and praise toonami.

I remember Ronin warriors rom like a good 15 years ago so it was here before, as I'm sure DBZ was BUT Toonami helped spring board a lot of them.

YTV aired Dragon Ball Z episode 001 of the original FUNi/Saban/Ocean dub "The Arrival of Raditz".

That might have been the last broadcast of an Ocean dub on YTV, and possibly the last time an episode of Dragon Ball Z will ever be broadcasted on YTV, as I don't see the possibility of show returning if at all on the channel.
Other than a couple of the animated movies popping up around the release of the Live Action movie, I'm guessing it's the end of Dragon Ball on Canadian TV.

I'm sorry, but what's the point of airing ONE episode of Dragon Ball Z? It's like I know in NY, it had DBZ on Cartoon Network, more specifically Toonami. Then, they announced that Toonami was also moving over to WB. And then on WB, they showed like 3 random episodes of DBZ.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I've always wondered how much air time Dragonball and Dragonball Z got in Japan compared to us. I'm pretty sure that they aired it on at least two channels in Japan (Fuji TV and Toei's satellite channel) and that Fuji TV aired it longer than Toei, but ended it in 1995 (after starting in 86). I know that here in the US once Toonami started showing Dragonball Z they gave about as much screen time as it could have possible needed. But it seems that in Japan the trend is to hold out on things for a long time and build up the anticipation (such as how Toei waited 18 years to release Dragonball).

So does anyone know or have the TV listing schedule for Dragonball on Fuji TV?

I agree with the sentiments about Toonami. I really don't watch Cartoon Network anymore. so I don't know what's on, but I really miss the Toonami weekday afternoon slot. Freshman year of high school, I'd come home every day, sit down and do my homework (Honors Geometry was the preponderance of it - nightly homework, many problems each night, and me not actually knowing how to do it since I suck at math and was given honors math instead of honors English where I belonged ... sorry, little rant is complete), and at 5:00, I'd watch DBZ Season 4 (Trunks-Cell Games). I watched all but one episode that way.

It would be absolutely awesome to bring that back in some form, even if only for a day. Remember the 1999 DBZ opening for Toonami - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrvpbJ718wY

They should show a fan-picked episode from each season with its respective intro prior to the show. I can't get enough of nostalgic Toonami stuff from when I was in 8th-10th grade.

I think Fuji stopped airing Dragonball a few years ago. I remember that DBGT was on at 3:30 in the afternoon or something and then got taken off the schedule.

It was part of YTV's week long 20th Anniversary Celebration. DragonBall Z was once a prominent popular show on the channel when it originally aired all those years ago. I'm actually surprised it was DragonBall Z, and from the Saban era no less. Since their broadcast license apparently expired for DragonBall Z.

Well if they're gonna show a DBZ episode, might as well be that one. I mean I wouldn't expect Cartoon Network to air "Remastered" or "Ultimate Uncut" episodes if they ever did that. Because "Remastered" was never on TV (yet, probably in the future when every channel goes HD and Widescreen), and the Ultimate Uncut came way too late in the game. Can't call it a classic. Now the Ocean/Saban dub is a classic. I just recently bought the Saiyan and Namek Saga of the Ocean/Saban dub and I don't care if it's horribly censored and I don't care if Goku's dad is a scientist who created artificial moonlight. I don't care if when Nappa blew up a bunch of planes that they all had parachutes and would not be harmed. I don't even care that there's a Home for Infinite Losers and a "next dimension". Every time I see it and hear it, it takes me back to a very happy time.
