Also, on Arlia, the whole thing with:

Nappa: "We're bad?"
Vegeta: "Well, a little."

The way Vegeta answered was pretty cool.

I really like Drummond's voice as "evil" or "sinister" Vegeta. But I feel that by around the Cell saga, he'd become too, uh... neutral for that. While I feel that Sabat can pull off both a neutral, good, and evil Vegeta (I rather enjoyed his redub work). But that's just me.

I think Sabat's delivery is better, actually. Drummond's practically gnawing on the rocks.

Especially since the original line is:

Nappa: "V-Vegeta... What was Kakarot's power again?"
Vegeta: "Over...8000..." *krnch*

I'm not fond of either delivery, but Drummond completely outclassed Sabat on the "You won't escape my wrath" sequence. His lines and delivery were on a whole different level than Sabat's.

Ya, Sabat's is a bit more true to the Japanese version (if that's even possible when we're talking about such a terrible mis-translation) but Drummond's version makes for a better retarded fan-boy phrase and a better video loop.

Now the only problem with that scene is that nothing Vegeta could do would live up to how much asskicking that promised. :P

It's so true, he would have to do nothing short of making Gohan sip his food through a straw for the rest of his life.

Is there a video of that same scene but with the Japanese audio? I can't remember how it was said in it's original context but I'm pretty sure it can't compare to Drummond's version (wow, a dub out-coolifying it's original).

He's sounds pretty exasperated in that dub, pretty funny to listen to, almost like Vegeta with a slight case of asthma. :)

How could you all forget this?!
It's time to send you to..... THE NEXT DIMENSION!
Truly a classic line... every variation of it.

While it's not the line, it is a line from it...and while the delivery is skewed by a voice filter, I always found "Guess what, Kakkarot? I'm having you for lunch," both wickedly ridiculous and exceedingly awesome.

Damn, what is up with me today? That's the second time I've posted in the wrong thread today.

Some one with lots of free time on their hands and all of Saban discs should eventually make a soundboard with all of Vegeta's crazy lines, and then we could use them for some crazy voice-overs! :)

You won't escape my wrath...It's spine chilling. As much as I love Sabat, he couldn't come anywhere close to Drummond in this scene.

I don't think Sabat has come anywhere close to Drummond ever, he grew and became more comfortable with his role, but he always sounds to me as if he's doing a character voice, he's not acting.

I'm one of the few people that preferred his original dying speech on Namek, sure it sounded horrible, but he kept his voice in character, in the re-dub he kept switching back to his default speaking voice.

And no, I'm not a Sabat hater, I happen to enjoy him in One Piece, which I believe was a good casting choice, unlike the myriad of voices he does in DBZ (none of which I'm even slightly partial to)

Drummond will always be dub Vegeta for me, simply because thats the first thing I ever saw, even though I have heard more of Sabat's Vegeta, it just never measured up to the lovable homicidal maniac that Drummond portrayed.

I honestly don't mean to be a dick, but this thread is about the awesome that is Drummond, not whether or not Sabat is better or worse. And with the 9,000 trend, this debate has been talked to death, and it always comes to, essentially, three points:
1. I like Drummond better.
2. I like Sabat better.
3. I like both equally.

Moving on.

I am suddenly curious as to which one makes Vegetto sound better.

Decide for yourself, and this time Vegetto was voiced ONLY by Drummond: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-06yzejtjgY
