Yeah, remember? He fucks around fighting Cell, tells Goku to shove off when the former tells him to kill Cell immediately, then Cell activates the bomb thing that Goku has to teleport away.

Oh, well I did not think he thought it was SSj2 solely. You'd figure from then on out he'd just be more careful.

I wonder what his plan was during the Tenka'ichi Budôkai? Just power up then down?

I assume that they meant Complete Cell or Super Complete Cell, since usually when they refer to Freeza (the only other super villain at that point) it usually sounds like they're referring specifically to his final form.

It wasn't so much not being careful as it was getting lost in the anger. But yeah, there is that too. I mean, Gohan has always held back. He's always been scared of his full power and has only ever used it when pushed way back into a corner. Showing his SSJ2 form without being in a serious life-or-death fight is one thing. Using it in a true combat situation where he's not entirely sure he can control all of the power or the anger that comes with it is something else.

Granted, this is largely speculation. But it's speculation based on what we know of Gohan's personality. Which is quite a lot.

What? That makes no sense. Why would it be easier to use a power hes "not entirely sure he can control" in a non-life-or-death situation??? If anything, the opposite would be true.

I think that both of you are trying to say the same thing: Gohan only wanted to use his full power when he was in a life or death situation, which is why he used it against Cell but not against Dabra.
