Dude, I do own a DS. I wouldn't be excited about this game if I didn't. What I said was that it looks as though this demo is distributed through a Wii's WiFi-based "Channels" services. Seeing as that I own a DS but NOT a Wii, I was curious as to any other ways to obtain and try out the demo.Forgotten Hero wrote:There is! So I'm assuming you didn't understand the question...Forgotten Hero wrote:There is! I think they call it a d..DS?
The demo is transmitted through the Wii to the DS via the Nintendo Channel. I think some stores can be used as hotspots to download some featured demos. Those are really the only ways I can think of.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.
Thank you. I'm was under the impression the downloadable demos at most stores were on a cartridge on the transmitting DS, kind of like a WiFi version of a demos disc. But I'll try anyway.Onikage725 wrote:The demo is transmitted through the Wii to the DS via the Nintendo Channel. I think some stores can be used as hotspots to download some featured demos. I'm not sure exactly how those work, but they certainly have been using DS Download Play since before the Wii. So you may be right. Something, maybe the cart, must be broadcasting the data. They can also use that feature in ballparks to transmit stats and replays and let you order food, or so I've read.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I got it tonight but very unfortunately, my DS Lite is half-way across the country at my parents' house. I just wanted to grab it since handheld Dragon Ball games always run thin in quanity fast.
I flipped through the handbook for what it's worth, there's some beutiful new images of the original Dragon Ball cast inside.

That generic non-Makafushigi (not good with the Japanese words...) Adventure song is really weak. Not suprisingly, no Japanese, not that it matters, the game so far features nothing more then grunting, and Goku talking when you open or close the DS.

I know some stores have a download service. Maybe Best Buy or Gamestop have the WiFi download service. You can just go to a place that does, turn on your DS, his the downloads thingie on the main screen, wait a few seconds, and then choose Dragonball Origins.SSj Kaboom wrote:Holy crap!Phred wrote:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/ ... rigins.jpg
An English demo is up for download on the Nintendo Channel this week!![]()
Is there any way for us poor slobs who don't own a Wii to get this?
When it gets done, the game will load automatically.
Yeah, I know how that works, but they usually have cards with the demos pre-loaded onto the broadcasting DSes. It's not like they're on some constant connection with a Nintendo server that's always updating with new Demos. I was in a couple different Gamestops the other day, and none of them had the DBDS demo. ;_;Kendamu wrote:I know some stores have a download service. Ah. Well, then, I dunno. I had this odd assumption that game stores would be up to date with their downloads.SSj Kaboom wrote:Yeah, I know how that works, but they usually have cards with the demos pre-loaded onto the broadcasting DSes. Know anyone with a Wii who can get online with it?
A couple of my friends in town have Wiis; I don't see them too often though.Kendamu wrote:Know anyone with a Wii who can get online with it?

Which makes one want to smack the shit out of Atari after all of their English trailers have been using the damn song as if it's in there.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:That generic non-Makafushigi (not good with the Japanese words...) Adventure song is really weak.

I know, right? Blah. I'll still get the game.Tsukento wrote:Which makes one want to smack the shit out of Atari after all of their English trailers have been using the damn song as if it's in there.Super Saiyan Prime wrote:That generic non-Makafushigi (not good with the Japanese words...)
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
That's my plan, I'm just going to turn the volume off anyway because I can't stand the dub voices.bkev wrote:I know, right? Blah. You could have gotten the Japanese version. You don't really need the text to play the game.NeptuneKai wrote: That's my plan, I'm just going to turn the volume off anyway because I can't stand the dub voices.
On a personal comment, I'm on the 3-4 level (find Puar). I'm kind of stuck. I've only tried it once, but I could not find him.
You have to hit Puar who has turned into a cactus. Hit the wrong cactus, you get thorns!

Oh really? I thought it was more of an RPG type ordeal where you would need to read instructions. I actually just like being able to read the text in any regards. I'll just blast some Dragonball BGM on my Ipods or something while playing, no biggie.Forgotten Hero wrote:You could have gotten the Japanese version. I didn't even know this game was out yet, looks like I'll have to start saving up again.
