Fights that never happened (but should have)

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I think that we need to see:

-Mr. Popo vs Anyone.
-SSj3 Goku vs Fat Dai Kaioshin
-Super Ascended SSj Trunks vs Broly *personal favorite*
-Piccolo (fused with Kami) vs Vegeta (Cell Games era)
-#16 vs Ascended SSj Vegeta

I'm going to have to say thats the one fight I'm glad we never had to see.

My picks would have been, Son Gohan vs. Muten Roshi and Vegetto vs. Gotenks.

Considering the way time travel works in Dragon Ball, it probably could.

I only want to see the fight for the humorous interactions between the two.

And it would be base Vegetto vs. Super Saiya-jin 3 Gotenks.

That is why we have Dragonball video games. :)
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I've love more than anything to just see one last big brawl between Pic and Son post-Freezer- not as a serious angry fight, not at full power or anybody trying to kill anybody or agruing who killed who's father...

But just as what it is- a nod to the past, a testing of abilities and stepping off that to the future. Veg and Son get their last big 'rivalry' fight at the end of the series, but this one doesn't. It's annoying < <

Though, holy shit I would pay someone to do a fight between Pic and Veg right at the middle of Cell. Like if Veg hadn't pumped two years worth of training out in two days, and they were right about even with each other. It'd be brutal man. There isn't nearly enough of these two interacting/growling at each other throughout the show.

Kunzait_83 wrote:Eh… actually I think it’s a bit sooner than that. I’d say that Vegeta’s “badass” quotient officially runs out at about the moment where Freeza switches to his 2nd form.

Prior to that, Vegeta was a clear cut villain turned pseudo-antihero who would, when met with overwhelming odds, resort to any filthy, sneaky, low down dirty tactic to gain the upper hand, rather than sit idly by and whine constantly.
You mean like attacking Freeza while his back was turned and he was focused on Gohan? Cause that didn't work.
Then he goes up against Freeza and… well, then the endless crying and bitching about how “So and so is actually stronger than me! That’s not ever supposed to happen! I’m supposed to be the prince (of a long dead race)! Life isn’t fair! *pout*” begins… and doesn’t stop until somewhere between blowing himself up against Buu and the Kaioshin-kai battle.
I believe I said this elsewhere on here, but I don't see the Freeza (or Broly) fight as falling under that. I think it's Vegeta being the only one there who knows anything about who they're fighting.
Don’t get me wrong. I still like him overall, just not during the middle bulk of the Z era. Between end of Freeza and Buu, he’s like a fucking broken record. He’s either bragging about what a magnificent warrior he is while thoroughly dominating and slaughtering opponents that are far, FAR, weaker than he is who wouldn’t have a prayer against him on their best day, or he’s shitting himself in abject terror when faced with someone who he can’t effortlessly defeat and may actually outmatch him.
In his fight versus #18 he's neither, which is why I extended it to the Time Chamber.

There was that time he abandoned Goku and left him to face some of the Ginyu by himself. That was pretty dirty.

True... except Mr. Popo has yet to be playable in a single one of them all these many, many years.

He's looooong overdue me thinks.
It's true. When we're getting characters who DON'T HAVE NAMES and freaking APPULE in there before somebody that's beat the crap out of Goku at least once, you've got a problem.

But then, I'm the kind of guy who wants playable Karin and Hitler.

After seeing how Vegeta dealt with Kiwi, Zarbon, Dodoria, Jheese, Battah, Recoome, and Ghurd, we can probably assume that ditching Goku was the least dirty thing Vegeta could do at this point.

There probably staying away from him because he is a controversial character or there is not a big demand for him yet strangely enough, Freeza’s fodder soldiers are there as someone already mentioned.

Seriously, who set up these rules for a fight? In a real fight, you will do whatever it takes to stay alive. As far as I know, there are no Intergalactic Association of Boxing Commissions that establishes rules for a fight in Dragonball. Vegeta has basically been a loner for the majority of his life and Nappa was just there to take up space. Some would call it selfish but looking at the world where Vegeta came from only one rule applied. Only the strong survive and weak are eaten alive by the likes of Freeza and his ilk.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

I sincerely doubt that what foreigners happen to think about Popo’s “racial overtones” was a notion that was even slightly entertained by the Japanese game developers. More than likely it’s simply the same reason that Kami and Murasaki (two other characters I desperately want to see playable) haven’t been done yet; they just didn’t get around to them yet.

‘Sides, Popo and his "minstrel" likeness has been plenty prominent on any number of game menus and option screens, and I don't see anyone making a Federal case out of it.
*knocks on wood*

Popo never really fought anybody so there really isn't any reason to put him in a game. Well the games that have come out over the past five years.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

If it's held in your heart then you can't let go.

In either volume 13 or 14 of the Manga, Goku more or less gets his ass handed to him by Popo. Beating Popo is a challenge that Goku is supposed to pass in order to meet Kami, but Kami waives that for Goku since Goku couldn't beat Mister Popo until three years later.
