The first Broly movie is actually pretty good. And you left out a ton stuff, movie 8 is not the mindless drivel of dialogue that many consider movie 10 to contain. Broly has a personality and is not yelling Kakarot the entire movie as you are suggesting. I'm guessing you hate broly (I do too) but you shouldn't sell the movie short because you don't like the main villain.Tsukento wrote:That's okay, I'll give you the basic description of the first movie.B wrote:Never seen a Broly movie.
"KAKARROOOOOOOT!"
*BAKOOM* *EXPLOSION* *KI BLAST*
"KAKARROOOOOOOOT!"
"I ain't Kakarrot. I'm Son Goku!" *Super Saiyan*
*Legendary Super Saiyan*
Trunks gets owned, Gohan gets owned.
*Big Green Time -- Owned*
*Prince of Saiy-- Owned*
*Energy borrowing punch to the gut*
"KAKARROOOOOOOOOT!"
*Comet owned*
And there's also a musical number with Kuririn and a "You laugh, you lose" moment with Roshi.
Easily (one of) the two best movies in the 13-movie collection.Satan-Sama wrote:I should pick this up, considering I haven't watched either of them. I know, I honestly don't know how in all of my years of fandom I have manged not to watch movies 12 and 13.

Over here, Movie 12 is a G and movie 13 is a PG.

I really love movie 12. It's by far the best DBZ movie IMO, and I wish there would be more like it. Preferably with more Gogeta =D
Movie 13 however.. Is terrible IMO. I just can't stand that movie.
I've already had Movie 12 for a couple years now, though I may consider buying it in Blu-Ray.. It all depends on how much better the picture looks.

Almost all the DBZ movies are like 12.ImmortalSandwich wrote:I really love movie 12. It's by far the best DBZ movie IMO, and I wish there would be more like it. Preferably with more Gogeta =D

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

My Cover art prediction.... In the background have Jamenba final form and and Hirudegarn and in the foreground have the Gogeta image from the the movie 12 poster and dvd single.

Yes, he played the most active role in the Cell Game while having his appearance from the Freeza Saga, which warrants his appearance on the cover art.Rocketman wrote:Super Saiyan Goku was at the Cell Games?! What is this silliness! The Tori-bot wrote:that
We all know Gohan could kick Rocketman's ass.

Probably subject to change. It's most likely a placeholder like the first Broly set cover.

Decent cover, even if I was wrong.

FUNi's new solicitations say that this along with season nine are due out 5/30/09. That's a Saturday, though, so it'll probably change. Hopefully it'll stay at 5/19 so that it doesn't get pushed back.

Huh. Practically identical to 13's single cover, and yeah, probably just a placeholder. I wouldn't mind if that were the cover, though.

For me, it felt the most like the kind of movie you would see at the cinema, rather than just on TV like the other movie. That's not to say I wouldn't see the others at the cinema, movie 13 just felt more like a proper movie, with actual character focus and stuff like that.ShinRogafuken wrote:Can't wait for this set; always loved both Movies 12 and 13.
Now while I love "Wrath of the Dragon" and think it was one of the best movies in terms of presentation, I just feel that it was a fantasy/action movie with Dragon Ball characters in it, instead of an actual DBZ movie.
