Yeah, I got it (well, not the gold version, obviously). It's an alternate take on the Freeza arc, "What if only Piccolo got killed in the Saiyan arc", which results in Yamucha, Tenshinhan and Chaozu joining the others on the journey to Nameck. The game is played in a relatively linear fashion, where you have to navigate a number of small maps, spending as much time on each as you'd like. Between each map, you get to control Goku in his spaceship or Piccolo on Kaiou's planet, doing training which will increase their stats for their eventual arrival at Nameck.SSj_Rambo wrote:And the game seems to be an RPG that covers the entire Freeza Arc.
While there are random battles in the game, you also get to see the enemy team moving around on the map in between your turns, like in a strategy RPG, fighting over the Dragonballs. If you'd like, you can also engage them in battle and steal their dragonballs at any point, though this does require doing a lot of unnessecary level grinding to stand a chance, and you'll gain a ton of power after visiting Saichourou anyway, so there's little pont in doing so.
The game does a nice job retelling the events, but just like in the series, the battles covered here are very one-sided, and the game ends up being way too easy for it's own good. The only time you're actually in danger of dying is when Kuririn and Dende first go to see Saichourou, as you'll have to navigate very dangerous territory with only one character capable of fighting.

Yeah, I plan on e-mailing Kami Sama Explorer sometime soon and asking him if he knows of any differences in the menus or credits of overall gameplay for the Gold Version; I have a couple of other things I need his help on.
As far as I know there are no differences between the actual version and the limted edition re-release, just the cartridge, box, and potentially the manual.
