Eh, that disc is in my DVD Player right now and I want it to play at the same place as it was when I last watched it, so I'll do that when I finish Disc 3.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Thanks. Not that I don't mind seeing Bulma in the shower.

Has the scene passed where Vegeta goes underwater to get the dragonball Gohan stole out the water, and Vegeta launches out of the water looking super pissed, with like veins in his eyes and all?

That's the most pissed Vegeta ever looks in the show.

Shoot away, please provide Ep. number as well. :)

I believe it had something to do with the negatives being in 35mm, and Toei still had access to the negatives for those episodes.
Ah, so everything originally had 35mm negatives, but the only ones that survived or were in usable shape at the time they created the DBoxes in Japan were just the negatives for this set of episodes.
I still don't see how this is taken as complete truth when one person in the entire history of the DragonBall fandom has said it. And their reasoning didn't make much sense either...

But the fact that those episodes look completely different from the rest of the episodes in that saga should say at least something about them.

Thank you so much for posting these!

Don't get me wrong, I love these releases... they're the best and cost-effective alternative to the actual Dboxes, but if they are using 96kpbs audio, the 5.1 Surround Sound English Audio, and somewhere along 4.5 Mbps video stream, maybe they could add more to the disc. I don't know what could be added to make these dual-layers fill up a little more to their 8.4 GB limit, but something could be put in.

Doesn't matter in the end, I love these Dbox releases... keep them coming FUNimation!

Actually, assuming those sizes are simply what Windows lists (which is actually in Gibibytes), the capacity of a dual-layer disc is 7.95GiB. So, it's not like the old days of FUNimation still having massive amounts of free space.

I hate when I assume. I'm just so used to knowing that DL's have a capacity of 8.4 GB's. I honestly didn't know that FUNi's DVD limit was 7.95 GB.

Well, that is good to know then. Thanks for that tidbit! :D

It is 8.5 GB. Windows calls a GiB a GB. 7.95 GiB = 8.5 GB. In Windows a DVD will show a capacity of 7.95 "GB".

I should have mentioned I used Windows. I used Windows explorer and its "GB" since that's what Mike seemed to use in his Dragon Box review.

Who originally said that some episodes were done on 35mm film?

I believe Kei17 made mention to this from what I remember.

Yeah, this scene always creeped me out because it looked so unnatural for Vegeta to be making this type of face.

Should have brought this up earlier.

jjgp, it isn't necessary to embed every screencap you put up, just link to them unless you are specifically pointing out something relevant.

Same deal with how Radditz didn't have pure black hair.
