How is providing a cost efficient way for far to own the series the WORST thing to happen to DBZ? [Do you know how long it takes to track down every single SINGLE? -too long] If anything, for Dub/Faulconer fans, that was one of the best things to happen.

Wow. Learn to take a joke people. The orange bricks were known to be cropped to 16:9 from their original 4:3 aspect ratio. The grain removal sacrificed the picture quality. Gozar said it best

Which 90's theme are you refering to? Tht was more a trab at rap being crappy in general more than downing the show. But I have LOVED all of the US intros to Z. Rock the Dragon and Prelude to Confilt or whatever it was, are awesome.

Rap is fine. There's plenty of good rap. "Step into the Grand Tour" just happens to be both awful and wildly out of tone for the series.

Rocketman has a point. Both "Step into the Grand Tour" and "Dan Dan Kokoro" were made purely with commercial interests in mind, using popular music to market the series. The difference is of course that "Step into the Grand Tour" is much worse at being rap than "Dan Dan Kokoro" is at being '90s J-pop, and that the latter fits the general aesthetic of the series as well.

Because it was done so terribly. If they had just compiled the masters from their old singles, it would have been much preferable. Instead, they gave us a product that did nothing but give us more reasons to bitch at one another because FUNi just couldn't keep their moronic hands off of the show. I don't think it's the WORST thing to happen to Dragon Ball, but it's certainly the worst thing in the past ten years to happen to Dragon Ball.

The slight alterations of the footage aside, bringing DBZ to the masses in 9 easy affordable bricks is one of the BEST things in the last ten years.

No, bringing the series to the masses in 7 amazing box sets is the BEST thing to have happened in ten years. The orange bricks were a disgrace and split an already divided fandom on something as unnecessary as aspect ratios! Who the hell ever thought THAT was going to be a problem? Who ever thought something as basic as that would be tampered with? You still have idiots bitching about the Dragon Boxes or Kai not being in widescreen. The orange bricks didn't just set Dragon Ball fandom back. It set knowledge of film back. Anything that can be that categorically destructive definitely gets my vote.
