... And in most of the manga/anime.

. WHO? Besides the one(Vegeta) Goku influence or Earth made him good. What Saiyan was good in the manga? Tarble was the first(I think) good Saiyan to appear. I honestly think he was good because of the yin yang Goku and Vegeta have.

The quartet of Bardock, Gine, Raditz, and Kakarrot make up Bardock’s family, such as it is, but all four of them were never together.

Also, I think that Bardock himself might have had siblings, but perhaps even Bardock himself doesn’t really know, and at any rate, he probably has no interest in it, either.

Saiyans don’t have much of a concept of “family”.

So this kinda confirms that Raditz is Goku's full brother. But also confirmed that Saiyans might have brothers that they don't know about. Kinda cool. Also just curious but when he said "No blood relationships" does that mean incest might happen?

To be honest, I haven’t thought it through that far, but Bardock is a low-class warrior. Although even saying that, almost all [Saiyans] were low-class warriors, and there were only about 10 mid-class warriors. And when you get to the elite warriors, there’s only King Vegeta and Prince Vegeta. Bardock is in the upper ranks as far as low-class warriors go, but he isn’t able to become a mid-class warrior.

Pretty much the average Saiyan was BORN low class. But I'm sure most of them grow up to become strong. So I don't know what to say. Does that mean Raditz was average? I always thought Mid Class should be average with below average being low class. Made more sense to me but ok.

How do we know he didn't give a shit? Just from the Bardock special?

Anyway, if the issue with Saiyans is that they don't have the concept of a family built into them, then they just don't "automatically" love their family members. Bardock's bond with Gine developed through interaction, but that didn't happen with their children.

Same reason he gave Nappa a Japanese vegetable pun: because...well, why wouldn't he? There's no big rule saying Saiyans should be named after the English words for vegetables, despite what some people seem to think.

Fair enough. Although, while there isn't any set rule for it, it really does stick out from the rest. I guess Nappa and Gine just happen to be the 1%.

But he also said stuff about the past. So could mean that Planet Vegeta or even beyond past that. Though this might be complex for DBZ but could EOB be Bardock's personal heaven?

Well, Bardock is dead regardless of Episode of Bardock (either 1/ he died in the past when Vegeta exploded or 2/ he died in the further past considering Episode of Bardock takes places hundreds of years before the present time and Saiyans don't live hundreds of years).

I'm loving all these new tidbits of info, from Toriyama himself. Like many of you I, too, always wondered who Goku's mother was, and by extention, "Queen Vegeta." I mean, can you imagine if Gohan just suddenly appeared with baby Pan at the end of DBZ, and Videl was never part of the series? Would've been a big "wtf" moment for us. Concerning "Queen Vegeta," I think it would've been cool if she was at least referenced in "Yo! Son Goku & Friends Return!!" All Tarble had to say was "Father deemed me too weak to fight, but mother spared me and sent me off to a distant star." At least acknowledge her existence, lol.

I always considered Freeza and his race as "Changelings," but I guess that isn't exactly the case anymore. Oh well.

I still don't see how this is 'RUINED FOREVER' material for so many of you. I just...gah. I understand how everyone can have different opinions and different things they want out of the series, but if this is all it takes to make you grow to hate one of your favorite series, then maybe you never liked it as much as you thought to begin with then?

Both things I actually wouldn't mind learning about actually. Well, more on Kuririn's past in general rather than his parents specifically, I guess.

I dunno...just because Bardock loved a woman doesn't automatically mean those feelings would still be true for their kids. And his caring for her doesn't have to have gone to the same level as her for him either - I highly doubt he was exactly fawning over her or anything.

I think it's all pretty much subjective. Anyone can believe what they want, since Toriyama is seemingly making this stuff up as he goes along anyway, and obviously doesn't take it very seriously. He's just having fun with all of it, as should we
