^Let's hope so. Funimation should know that if they are going to wait any longer, they will lose a large amount of money here. The demand is high so leaving Kai incomplete for so long is ridiculous.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
See, this is what makes me think there's some kind of legal or technical thing going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, because you're right, surely they recognize the issues associated with holding this off for too long. There's no way they don't know that. So I have a hard time believing they've waited this long because they think it's a good idea. There has to be something going on that we don't know about.Darkblade1995 wrote:^Let's hope so. A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
It couldn't be that they don't care about it because in that podcast with sean schemmel he sounded really excited to be continuing with kai especially with the scene where goku tells gohan goodbye before he left other worldTheBlackPaladin wrote:See, this is what makes me think there's some kind of legal or technical thing going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, because you're right, surely they recognize the issues associated with holding this off for too long. Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
Well, just because a voice actor cares doesn't mean that the dubbing company itself cares. I mean, from what I can remember, the Seiyuu's were very excited to voice Kai again for the Buu arc. But if we look at Toei themselves..... yeah...... if we look at Kai as a whole, Toei never really cared. But that's not to say Funimation doesn't care because I'm certain they want to release this as fast as possible. Plus with Super now airing in Japan, which is actually new content, they are probably even more in a hurry to release it now, since everybody has that hype going on now.Naruto6583 wrote:It couldn't be that they don't care about it because in that podcast with sean schemmel he sounded really excited to be continuing with kai especially with the scene where goku tells gohan goodbye before he left other worldTheBlackPaladin wrote:See, this is what makes me think there's some kind of legal or technical thing going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, because you're right, surely they recognize the issues associated with holding this off for too long. Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
The only reason I can see them waiting is cause of how much publicity the announcement would get at comic con so let's hope that's the case.TheBlackPaladin wrote:I have a hard time believing they've waited this long because they think it's a good idea.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
Next week, FUNi should be announcing their October Release schedule. I hope Kai is on it.
Super is a big problem, as it has heavily affected Kai's relevancy. This wait has seemed long in comparison to the first 98 episodes.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
That's another reason why cancelation is a more likely factor. If they had any interest in getting this out, they'd have done or said something by now.DBZ_Lee wrote:Next week, FUNi should be announcing their October Release schedule. I hope Kai is on it.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
I highly doubt FUNi would cancel. They obviously still care about Kai since they put it on Toonami where it is getting good ratings. We may not see it until it airs on there (I'm hoping this is not the case), but I'm sure we'll see it eventually.Valerius Dover wrote:That's another reason why cancelation is a more likely factor. Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
So I was watching the DBZ panel from last week and for the Q&A they openly said for people not to ask about licensing stuff ie. KAI. And that explains why no-one asked about it and it seems FUNi want to avoid the subject completely course the VA's are not helping them, as Todd Haberkorn said in the "F" premiere that he voiced Tarble in Kai, idk this is a mess.
Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
FUNi have been using this image to promote "F" at Comic Con.
Look closely, then take a look at this picture: The Goku used here, is the one Káze used in their "Final Chapters" DVD release: (FUNi simply changed the hair colour)
FUNi also used this same picture back at SXSW:
I don't know whether this means anything, but I sure hope it does.

He voiced Tarble in Kai? he really hasn't a clue..... does this mean they dubbed the Jump Special? I'm totally confused. This whole situation is just getting worse and worse.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:So I was watching the DBZ panel from last week and for the Q&A they openly said for people not to ask about licensing stuff ie. Fans have been asking for it for awhile so it wouldn't surprise me if it was a bonus on the final disc.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
Could this be the "small but noteworthy" thing about the FUNi dub for Kai that other members in the know have eluded to?. Either way, they need to get this thing announced asap.sintzu wrote:Fans have been asking for it for awhile so it wouldn't surprise me if it was a bonus on the final disc.DBZ_Lee wrote:Does this mean they dubbed the Jump Special? Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
Yeah that could be it. I guess it does make sense labelling the special as Kai, saves FUNi releasing it separate and maybe get a few more people to buy Kai too.DBZ_Lee wrote:Could this be the "small but noteworthy" thing about the FUNi dub for Kai that other members in the know have eluded to?. Edit-
20 mins or so of their industry panel left no sign of Kai yet. Not happening is it?
Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
Was literally about to say the same thing. That woulD certainly be nice of them.DBZ_Lee wrote:Could this be the "small but noteworthy" thing about the FUNi dub for Kai that other members in the know have eluded to?. Oh btw any news?
Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
Nothing from the Industry panel at Comic Con. The ball is way beyond dropped, I've a feeling it's going to be next year now, which is pathetic really.

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
I don't understand why everyone gets it so hyped up in their heads that every single next upcoming event industry panel is going to be "the one". There are very few times during a year (decade, even) that FUNimation announces major Dragon Ball stuff at a convention. Please, please, please stop setting yourselves up for disappointment week in and week out!

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
I'm still fairly new at getting a good understanding of the legitimate ins and outs of how these businesses typically operate. I'm sure I could do some investigating and figure it out but seeing as how if there were to be almost anyone with as much experience with experiencing/dealing with/ and analyzing this industry and this franchise in particular, Mike what are your thoughts on the subject? What do you expect or predict to come out of this with any amount of certainty?
Re: Funimation Buu release guess?
Yeah, I'd be curious to hear his thoughts as well. I don't really know anything about how FUNimation handles Dragon Ball announcements and don't know what they might be thinking from a business perspective.ShaneisMC wrote:Mike what are your thoughts on the subject? So to Mike or whoever else is knowledgeable about these things, do you have any predictions as to when FUNi might announce this and when it might be released? And secondly, what do you guys believe is the reason for the hold up? One idea tossed around in this thread is that Toei is stopping FUNi from releasing it to protect their sales. Another idea is that FUNi is waiting for some kind of television deal. My business sense is so lacking that I have no idea which one of these is plausible, if any. But what do the experts think about this?
