I kind of wish he was though honestly, even though I'm not a super huge fan of him or anything. I don't care for Piccolo forfeiting either way, but I feel like I'd like it just a bit better if Gohan was the one doing what Vegeta is doing.

At this point, I'm betting on Vegeta beating Frost in the next episode. After that, it'll probably move on to Vegeta V.S. Magetta, and at that point I'm kind of undecided on what I want to happen. If Vegeta wins, then we're just going to move on to a third fight in a row with him, to Hit. And that sounds like overkill. But if he loses, then we get two fights in a row between people we don't even know much about yet (Monaka V.S. Magetta, and then Monaka V.S. Hit).

I'm betting on Goku's chance against Hit not even coming until after the 'tournament' portion of the new arc is over, if he gets a crack at him at all.

Hmm...that does make things a bit different then. I'm still a little concerned about Vegeta fighting three times in a row, but maybe something like this: Vegeta fights and beats Frost; Vegeta fights and beats Magetta; Vegeta fights and loses to Cabba; Monaka fights and beats Cabba; Monaka fights and wins/loses to Hit (I could see it going either way). Then the story shifts to whatever it's post-tourney plan is (cuz I'm still convinced there is one), and Goku gets back in the action that way.

Okay, I know you're very upset about Piccolo being essentially forced to forfeit his match so that Vegeta could fight, but what indication does that have that Goku will fight again? Unless he plans on breaking the rules and possibly forfeiting the whole tournament in favour of Universe 6, Goku is not fighting again.
