Anyone else notice that the clown has a woman with pigtails for his angel? Joker and Harley, much?

A lot of people have been saying this. Personally I never put that together and don't really buy it. I think it's kind of a reach to connect "Clown and Girl with pigtails" to being a reference to Joker and Harley. I'd need to see their personality first. As of right now they're just Clown and Girl with pigtails. At least to me.

I'm not complaining the show, that I surely enjoy more than much people here.
I'm complaining about guys trying to come with strange, forced and fake parallelisms they can't prove.

Those design came from... who know? Creatives are people that use creativity.

This isn't just some BS explanation that I came across. These people needed ideas for Dieties. WHY is it so hard for you to believe that they Modeled them from Dieties from other cultures? WHY?!

It's not so much that it's hard to believe that they are modeled after other gods. But rather we have no real proof of it besides how they look. They could be modeled after other Gods I suppose. Or they could be a random mish mash of animals and creatures. But right now It feels like people are trying to justify the designs by trying to make connections. Which I don't find necessary.

I don't think most of the complaints are coming from "are they from other religions or not" but instead if they find the designs appealing. I like the clown but I couldn't care less if he is supposed to be loki. If he is I don't feel like that would make him more appealing to those who don't like his look to begin with.

That clown is more Ronald McDonald than Joker, design wise.
The Angel is ABSOLUTELY inspired by Harley Quinn, look at the pigtails + those two wisps/strays (is this the correct word) of hair.
It can't get more obvious than this.

I think it'll be far more serious than the Champa tournament, simply because of the stakes. Entire universes and lives are on the line and will be wiped from existence.

This is what I'm feeling too. If they manage to get some truly great fights in there animation wise, provide some good moments to the non Goku/Vegeta characters and introduce some cool fighters with cool abillities like Hit and Magetta, or at least interesting personalities, I don't really care if absolutely everything makes sense.

The Joker has a lot of Green, and this GoD doesn't even come CLOSE to resembling him.

Guys remember that these are just tribute designs, but the personality is another thing. Since for me the Gods of Destruction are not villains, i doubt that the clown will be Joker v2. An asshole sure, like all the other Gods, but not evil.

Just tridentine Christians. Jews don't believe in the Trinity. And is three persons/hypostasis, one beign/substance/nature. This is understod on a greek-based metaphisical ontological language, akin to socratic tradition in the works of Plato and Aristotle: the opposites of mind and body are made radically different in nature.
Clarifying, I'm not a supporter, the least. But lets be clear and Christianity is not a form of polytheism. Is rather a (mis)conception (?) of the radical nature of the universe, as opposed to philosophical materialism and inmanentism.
You're rather right that culture (either high arts and modern popular culture) tends to reflect this philosophical gibberish in material representations of three. Trinity is a word we use not only for the Christian idea of a three-minded God, but any triple combination of harmonizing elements. This speaking, what the Kaioushin/Hakaishin/Tenshi is a trinity indeed.

Toriyama barely had any bad designs during his manga days, he even designed all the movie villains and major characters. Every design that you just said was mediocre, is pretty good to me, so judging off his designs from the manga, movies, anime, and games. He's either didn't draw some of these characters or he's just not trying, I vote for the latter.
Edit: Or these God of Destruction or hiding their true form or something.

I honestly think Toei must have had a hand or he isn't trying because of how many characters that had to be made of this arc. (Which honestly didn't have to all be shown at once. They could have spread out when the other teams would be introduced for the excuse of needing mystery and just release 5 at a time.)

I just double checked to make sure if Toriyama actually did desgin all movie villains and characters. He technically did since he add tweaks and corrections to the rough design Toei sends him, but the designs that were solely drawn by him were Coola and Coola's three henchmen, Androids No.13-15, Broli, Dr. Uiro, the Tree of Divine Might, Bojack and co., Tapion and Minoshia for the original 13 movies a least.

I actually think that the joker will be the most violent GoD. Not the steongest, but most violent in a way. Idk for me at the moment I think the weakest is going to be the Elephant and the strongest will be either kuriboh or the little furret thing that we can't clearly make out yet.
