Also I get the impression this Kale is more stable, we might have a bit of berserk saiyan and then skip to true legendary at this rate before the tournament

I dont see why theyd do that when the whole thing with her has been learning to control her power but okOLKv3 wrote:Or it'll be opposite. She starts with her normal SS form, then goes Berserkmahakaishin1991 wrote:Did they skip Renso

I wonder why Kale appears to be hiding her strength? She's clearly very fast but she only acts when Caulifla doesn't see it.

Not to keep this an Anime vs Manga discussion, but the one thing the anime has gotten universal praise for is its portrayal of Frieza. The manga has already dropped the ball on the Frieza hype. Let's see if it will pick up in the tournament.

Maybe she just doesn't want to take Caulifla's place.BlueBasilisk wrote:I wonder why Kale appears to be hiding her strength? She's clearly very fast but she only acts when Caulifla doesn't see it.

I love the chapter visually but very disappointed by the fact that Toyotaro forgot Frieza's halo in numerous panels. Come-on that's just absurd. I could see maybe one or two but he forgot it is almost half of the panels Frieza's inBrolyKale wrote:here http://wasabisyrup.com/archives/rG4b9FU2zNQmahakaishin1991 wrote:havent found it with a panda, fox or by a stream. Manga Kale looks stronger than Caulifla, and she's purposely keeping it hidden.
And Caulifla's robin hood.
edit: Ok I counted and he actually forgot the halo in about 5 panels which really is unacceptable.

It's something that happens surprisingly often in manga works. For example, when Shunsui Kyouraku started using an eyepatch in Bleach, Tite Kubo occasioonally forgot to draw the eyepatch in certain panels. If you're used to seeing and drawing a character a certain way for a long time, it can easily slip your mind when a small detail in the character design changes. Shoot, since Toriyama checks over the manga and makes corrections, he missed it too. I"m not saying it's not an issue, but there are several talented mangaka out there that have this sort of thing happen every now and then. Like with Shunsui's eyepatch, it'll most likely be corrected in the official volume release.TheMikado wrote:I love the chapter visually but very disappointed by the fact that Toyotaro forgot Frieza's halo in numerous panels. The post-Super fandom has ruined my love for Dragon Ball.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
It seems like Toyotaro was very rushed this time.
Sadala's moon is cool as hell but the rest of the planet doesn't look very different from how Planet Vegeta looked on Dragon Ball Minus. I was hoping Sadala would be different but it seems like it isn't, at least on the manga from what was shown. U6 Saiyans using guns is incredibly lame, but it's probably less lame than the anime showing some of them looking like incredibly generic thugs. Caulifla and Kale are handled a lot better in the manga so far, but this chapter doesn't go anywhere near episodes 94-95.
The anime handled the recruitment part so much better, except for the U6 Saiyans' part which Toyotaro made much more interesting. I'm not even mad that Toyotaro rushed through it by the way. I can't wait to see how Toyo handles the tournament, and I have faith he will pull it off well.

I think this might be a bit similar to how Raven from the Teen Titans was hiding her true power...BlueBasilisk wrote:I wonder why Kale appears to be hiding her strength? She's clearly very fast but she only acts when Caulifla doesn't see it.

As someone said before, this chapter sure was underwhelming.

A few things:
1) Kale is not a weakling in her base. Thanks, Toyo.
2) NO TINGLY BACK BULLSHIT. Thanks, Toyo.
3) Gohan's training and the fight between Freeza and Goku were off screen. Bad, Toyo.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I was a bit worried about this chapter with people calling it rushed. Looking at it I had nothing to worry it flows pretty well.
U6 Saiyans recruitment is easily the best part with Kale shinning brightly, I actually care about her now and am invested in what might happen with her at the tournament.
Freeza's recruitment I have to wait for the translation since there's a bunch of talking in regards to it, we even had a few flashback panels from FnF. Freeza's perspective was pretty cool. It really depends on what's said, I don't mind not seeing Goku vs Freeza, that's Toyotarõ teasing and that appears to be exactly what he did with Gohan.
I'm not upset since it's totally Mr. Toriyama, the original manga barely showed training. You saw the results in the field of battle and I expect that to be the case with Gohan.
The other characters recruitment seems to dictate their importance and while it would be cool to see a little bit of it, ultimately it would be a waste of time and "un-manga like". Like Mr.Toriyama did originally, Toyotarõ doesn't waste time building up characters who won't do much.
I expect a great moment from them in the tournament before their eventual elimination.
I'm sad about the absence of other Universe, maybe during the tournament with some flashback's.

yea, I also thought it would happen in just one picture... But no need to worry, it will be fixed in the near future, especially for the manga release.TheMikado wrote:

Keep in mind, the anime is not the same as the manga. This chapter should have proved that to you.mahakaishin1991 wrote:I dont see why theyd do that when the whole thing with her has been learning to control her power but okOLKv3 wrote:Or it'll be opposite. I don't see character growth like that happening in this version and also see a lot of fodder including our own being wiped out in one go.

I love it how people totally ignore the NO Z fighters training and the off panel Freeza vs Goku. No character build up nothing. They even say they are glad that it was not included. This chapter had litterly no meaning at all.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I've gotta say so far Cabba looks much better in the manga than in the anime. I hope he can be shown a bit more in the tournament than in the show.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Because it only led to disappointment and had fights that broke the power scale in their eyes.Pannaliciour wrote:I love it how people totally ignore the NO Z fighters training and the off panel Freeza vs Goku. For all we know, Krillin is as strong as he was in the Buu saga.
Objectively speaking, it does make more sense and is more consistent than its anime counterpart.
But its nowhere as fun proving once again, dragon ball is probably at its best when it's fun first, logic later.

Not only Toyo fucked up the art at times.............WHY IS KRILLIN OK WITH FREEZA? Even in the anime he was scared shit.
And this. Looks like Toriyama didnt plan anything for Gohan. Gohan isnt even called the team leader here. Its Goku. Looks like the TOEI staff had mercy on poor Gohan fans and threw them a bone.
Also, No Goku vs Freeza? No Freeza character buildup?
I dont wanna sound like a broken record but....
