So random, but I only noticed now that BOG is the first movie where Majin Buu and Pilaf gang appeared. Still, too much screen time for those three.

I checked everything I could think of and I didn't see anything. T_T
My guess is whatever it was they updated it was some behind-the-scenes thing (some coding?) and nothing that was actual content.

EDIT: Oh hey, you guys wanted news, right? I have no idea how credible this site is (looks fairly decent), but it's saying the movie will be 120 minutes long with a release date of April 25th. Compared to BOG, it's rather early to be hearing about a run-time, but hey, make of it what you will:

EDIT 2: Already beginning to doubt these details, actually. The site looks pretty legit, but I doubt there's even a final cut of the film yet. So how would they be able to allocate it a run-time? Hmmm...

Already beginning to doubt these details, actually. The site looks pretty legit, but I doubt there's even a final cut of the film yet. So how would they be able to allocate it a run-time? Hmmm...

I'm sure the run time could be determined once the storyboards were finished, and they probably should be by now (as they just barely finished the film in time for screenings last go around). Whether Toei would reveal that info to a site or whatever before anything else, including a title, is another story.

Also, I know it might be me being a little too technical, but the 25th isn't technically Golden Week, when the film was said to be released? That isn't until the 29th...

All that said, I'd love this to be true. An actual 2 hour Dragon Ball movie would be like a dream come true. Also, I know it's just a few days, but the earlier the movie releases, the sooner we get details.

It would certainly fit with the plot being more action-oriented and more dramatic than Battle of Gods.

As amazing as a 120 minute runtime sounds I would never get my hopes up and expect that, that's just setting yourself up for disappointment. I'd be happy if it was at least 100 minutes.

With the amount of $$$ BOG made it's not to out there to think the sequel will be 15 minutes longer.

The runtime wouldn't be decided yet. There's no telling how much of the film Yamamuro will be able to finish by the time it has to be sent out to theaters so early.

Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami made just barely the $30,000,000 that the production committee sought for the Japanese gross. Internationally it made another $20,000,000 or thereabouts (oh, 'thereabouts' is a single word after all!). Given the movie probably didn't even cost $1,000,000 to make it is safe to say the film made quite a lot of actual profit. That doesn't necessarily mean good things for this upcoming film, given it has been handed off to a director with no directing experience and a recent history of producing horrible results as a character designer and animation supervisor.

Wishful thinking. I doubt a new director would join at this point if the film is due out in about seven months. There wouldn't be enough time to ensure their own thumbprint or the quality of the film. There isn't really anyone else left at Toei Animation or in their immediate pool who is available, either, unless Yama'uchi Shigeyasu takes over. Yama'uchi recently returned to Toei Animation to direct an episode of Happiness Charge PreCure after nearly a decade away from the studio. The current theory seems to be that he will be the series director of the 2016 PreCure series, though, so I doubt he will be involved with this movie outside of perhaps being one of multiple credited storyboard artists. Nagamine Tatsuya, who directed Dragon Ball: Ultimate Blast's Opening animation is busy as the series director of HappinessCharge PreCure, so he too if off the table.

Yamamuro Tadayoshi being the director of this film has been out there long enough that if it were going to change we would have known it by now, unless he winds up sharing the credit with another director. Even then a lot of the legwork would have been done by Yamamuro and fit his vision--whatever that might be. Yamamuro has never shown much in the way of an interesting style as an animation supervisor, so I can't imagine we'll have the high-level of directing Otaku animated series get or even the level Hatano Morio brings to the table for Disk Wars: Avengers.

I didn't find the animation nearly as bad as some others. Admittedly, some episodes in the series were still by far better. (my personal favorite animation style is in the episode "Save the World," where Gohan kills Cell). But I thinks it's still too early to say it'll suck

I think it's already been confirmed the plot will be pretty decent with Toriyama writing and his old editor approving, so here's hoping.

The plot, I expect, will be good. The animation simply won't be as exciting as it could be, especially given other boys films out there for less popular series have seen talent and ambition placed into their production. Bleach: Jigoku-hen being one of them. A film that is going to have the attention this Dragon Ball film is going to have ought to at least have that much forethought placed into its production.
