He started to win the fight before Roshi showed up. Yamcha began sensing the Invisible Mans vibration and hit him, causing Baba to start singing so Yamcha couldnt sense him. Afterwards the Roshi gag happened.

Except we've seen how Yamcha acts around women he's phobic around, and that interview said
Again, get this through your head: that doesn't mean he's incapable of cheating.
The sword he put away when he got serious, indicating it was mainly used for intimidation. The Rocket Launcher was specifically used to disable their vehicle, Yamcha even puts away his guns when Goku steps out.

Puar, who was only a child lower then age 10, asked Yamcha to "Kick their butts" in retribution for Oolong's bullying of him.
He was cheering on Yamcha to kill them before Bulma scared him off, and expected it.
You still haven't proved that he was trying to kill Goku.
What do you think he was going to do before Bulma arrived?
Proof needed.

This perfectly shows your bias against Yamcha. You say he a bandit in his mid teens had killed a dozen people, yet claim Tenshinhan, a Assassin in his 20s, had most certainly never killed anyone.

Basically, you're going out of your way to negatively portray Yamcha.
Ten was not an assassin to my knowledge, he was training to be one. If it was stated that he actually had the occupation of "assassin" before he joined Goku, show me, and he'll join the list of people who are just as bad or worse than Yamcha.
Citation needed again.

Actually, Piccolo was planning to do that after killing Goku. Its even mentioned he's a threat to everyone at the tournament.
Except he did kill Goku and then didn't take over the world or even do anything bad.
Puar was a very young child and asked Yamcha to bully them for revenge against Oolong as explained earlier.

The Sword wasn't used really to fight, as I explained earlier. It was used to intimidate travelers.
Puar was expecting Yamcha to kill Goku.
It isn't, really.

Also there's a difference between occasionally joking about a character, and going out of the way to portray them in a bad light.
It obviously is, otherwise people wouldn't remember that above all else and we wouldn't be talking about this.

I don't need to portray Yamcha in a bad light, Toriyama does it for me. Toriyama seems to consider Yamcha pretty pathetic, given that he went out of his way to say without prompt that he got fired from his job and cheated on his girlfriend. And he had him get killed by a freaking Saibaman.
As I explained right here, you heavily exaggerated.
Uh, nope. You're the one trying to insist you know more than Toriyama himself, just to defend Yamcha.

I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

This thread has apparently ballooned since I've been gone, so I haven't gone through every post yet, but I just wanted to go ahead and get this out here. You are having a bit of a joke here at the dub's expense, right? What with the Bardock special, Episode of Bardock, and all this new news about Goku's mother, people don't still believe that, do they? Because I thought that dubism mercifully died out years ago.

Yeah. That's why I said that Toriyama basically canonized the first part of the statement when he said Bardock could never get to mid-class levels of battle power, just high levels of low-class, and joked that he may canonize the second part as well.

"Your father was an average fighter, but he was a brilliant scientist!"
Does kidnapping a child and beating the shit out of him count?
Meh, no one seemed to give a shit, including Gohan. But more seriously, that actually saved the world.

Well, at least we know how Gohan went from 1 to 981 in just a year: zenkais. Tons and tons of zenkais. Piccolo, fighting genius that he is, recognized the validity of this strategy long before Goku did. This is second only to his genius deception against Android 19 in how brilliant it is. It shows off Piccolo's tactical mind quite well.

Is Bardock inventing the fake moon really more stupid than EoB?

I don't think so, because that's actually pretty plausible, whereas for EoB to happen, Bardock has to be somehow sent back in time by a big ass energy sphere.

Bardock is the new Broly. He's got his own manga (adapted into a special), his own special, tons of wank in both (he's the second strongest saiyan alive despite being a low class! He's a time travelling hero even though he was supposed to have died! He's the legendary Super Saiyan!), he's getting more manga, and he got freaking SS2 in Heroes.

Checked that very chapter right now, Puar doesn't say anything when Yamcha is charging at Goku, and he never asked Yamcha to kill them.
RandomGuy96 wrote: What do you think he was going to do before Bulma arrived?
Clobber him and take his capsules by force obviously. Oolong mentions Yamcha beats up people who don't willingly surrender their capsules.

He endangered the people at the tournament, and he didn't take over the world cause of Goku, and later gaining humanity thanks to Gohan.

Again, I just checked, Puar never said that at all.

They're doing it so aggressively because they think its cool to do so right now.

Toriyama never said he considered Yamcha pathetic. He's called him one of the strongest earthlings in series and a loyal friend. Again, that interview contradicted the second hand statement.

It was shown that the Saibamen could've killed any of the protagonists there at the time except for Piccolo. Krillin even admits that it could've happened to him, so he was touched by Yamcha going ahead.
RandomGuy96 wrote: Uh, nope. You're the one trying to insist you know more than Toriyama himself, just to defend Yamcha.
Actually, I just disproved most of your whole argument which went out of the way to whitewash everyone elses bad actions and demonize Yamcha.

I never said I know more then Toriyama, don't put words in people's mouthes.

You see. I blame the fact that he got Goku's hair. Also the fact that Goku influence is father to be good(I don't know how. But In Universe.....I honestly think this is going to happen). Or Bardock had hidden good in him and Gine made it more apparent because she was good. Hence why Goku is good. Instead of Goku hitting his head -_-.

Now that I think about it I've disliked pretty much every product since the manga ended. BoG was entertaining until the final battle just felt off. Started to look like a PS3 game.
