Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

Not to dwell on the hilarity of Goku and Vegeta's handholding, but all the information today makes me really excited for the eventual Team Four Star dub of this movie. It seems like there will be a lot of prime material for those guys!

That's not for years and years and years down the line....even if they get that far. They may not finish Cell until another year or two.

You know, a while ago I wrote that Frieza would blow up the planet and Whis would reverse time. Before that, I joked about Goku and Vegeta holding hands (I added Broly in this dialogue, which upset Dyno...). There's a small line of dialogue in the second chapter of the manga that I wrote nearly word for word months before it was ever released. I was not the least bit shocked or surprised when I saw Golden Frieza.

This movie has met all my expectations. lol.

I want to know why they chose to do that instead of put a hand on a shoulder or arm, and which one's idea it was, because picturing the expressions of awkwardness on their faces is wonderful. X3

Oh darn it! I hoped that they can transform to those blue saiyan mode without help but it seems AT is going the yaoi way now, first 2 guy's dancing to fuse, and now 2 guy's holding hands to transform! I wouldnt be surprised if the next time they need to kiss to obtain a new transformation. I miss the rage transformations

Uh...if all it takes for you to scream 'EWW YAOI' is hand holding, I'd suggest you seriously try opening your mindset up a little. Cuz, really? Wow.

I never said it was ''eww'' Yaoi is a genre I was not discriminating it, I merely said AT was going that route for giggles, seriously try to relax u dont have to be serious about 1 guy's comment.

My bad if I misconstrued it, but that was certainly how your post read, at least to me at first. I mean, I don't see how the fusion dance in-of-itself is anything yaoi-ish anyway. But no harm, no foul.

Ah good. I'd rather they master the ability to do it themselves, then basically make 2 Saiyans become the ritual.

Yeah the ritual thing in BOG was one of my least favorite things about the whole film and the whole SSJ God transformation.

Personally I would have rathered it be something not so....convenient. I get why no one else uses it, but we're a galaxy or so away from God Tarble. Also in my personal opinion I'd rather it not have been called SSJ God at all.

The terms "super saiyan" and "god" seem fine to me on their own. But the transformation is not really a super saiyan transformation until I guess... now. Now that it's blue with the SSJ hair. Before it wasn't SSJ, but it was the transformation to Godly power.

At the same time. I never liked the way they did it, the whole "God" thing, it didn't make much sense in the lore. Is it that easy to become a God for any other race? It seems odd that the God gets a huge power boost while Kami on Earth does not get any kind of special "God" power. So it seems inconsistent. How come a saiyan can get such a huge power boost for being a God when Kami doesn't. I mean, that put Goku nearly on the level of Beerus.

Like you said, it's also too convenient. Hold some hands together with enough saiyans and presto-change-o you got yourself a GOD!! And I guess ANYONE can be a God!

To me, that's not the fault of Toriyama as he was just helping with a script he did not write and making alterations to a concept he didn't come up with. But I think it would have just been better for Goku to have achieved a new transformation on his own that wasn't a Godly power. Maybe something inside him that just burst out that he didn't expect during their fight like how he absorbed the transformation. And then afterwards he hones that skill with Whis. It would make more sense that way. I dunno, it just seems too easy for him to just be a God and somehow retain the power of a God.

At the same time, Goku has been in the presence of so many Gods that it kind of would make sense for him to eventually be given the title or something... but just not how they did it.

ikr, normally Goku just puts his hands on the shoulder of that person, maybe he was teasing Vegeta, AT's way to make a gag moment.

Ever since chapter 2 of the manga was released, I knew that Earth being destroyed was a thing, and Whis would use his time reversal to help Goku.

I don't think they made it very apparent that there was a new transformation for them, while they did basically spell out that Freeza would.

Maybe they thought it wouldn't be terribly effective from a marketing perspective? It seems as though there are a number of people already decrying the form as lazy or uninspired. Since it does seem to essentially be SSG/SSJ but blue, maybe they thought it better to keep it as a surprise to avoid any potential fan backlash prior to the film.

I have a feeling we would enjoy the movie a lot more if we didnt get spoiled but dang this curiosity, its hard to resist! srsly cant wait for the movie and how it would look like in 3D, never saw an anime 3D before, this is history in the making.

They could easily fix this by saying that beings that are already SSJGs can't participate in the ritual to make another Saiyan a SSJG, it would seem like a less cheap transformation that way.

Which is why I find it funny, had it been k own that Goku and Vegeta were to get new forms the movie would have probably have got even more interest and discussion than it actually had.

If that drawing on Julian's twitter feed is accurate, it looks like Gokû initiated it. When you take someone's hand like that, the person who starts it normally has their palm facing upward.

Cheap way to keep the power up to the two of them, but also a good way to keep things not so exploitable. Guess it's a fair trade.

Seeing as it looks like we won't be getting the summary anytime soon because Julian is probably asleep, would it really have been so hard for him to just let people know that he wasn't going to be posting up a summary today?

He must have known that there were going to be plenty of people that were going to be waiting to hear what he had to say, some people were staying up for it and getting up early for it.

But he just went to sleep without even bothering to let people know?
