I wish they'd have waited for confirmation as to if this listing is legit or not, but at least they mention the 120 as a likely placeholder run-time.

Out-sourcing is always done. Few of the animators who work on any project in the Japanese animation industry are in-house employees of the primary studio. The problem is there is no telling whether or not the staff have the contacts with talented freelancers so that they might be able to create high-quality work in the amount of time the movie has to be produced.

I didn't know it was there.
No need to be rude. :P

OT:

Seeing the news post on Kanzenshuu makes it legit.

With ANN postings about the movie, I tend to worry because sometimes ANN has unusual translations and I've seen them accidentally influence rumors in the past.

I'm not signed up for updates or anything either, I just check the site for news when I come to the forum.

Anyway, it's as legit as it can be I guess. Like Hujio said in the article on the site, it can't really be verified right now. So we just have to take it for what it is while remaining skeptical...which is what most of us on the site were already doing to being with. 8)

Well, at least they put "Possible Running time'' and are not saying it's 100% fact.

Oh, dude. There are rumours way worse than this circulating right now. :P

Along with the massive amount of revival theories that I've seen being touted as true, someone's also started a new rumour about the Manga's continuation following the film's premiere in 2015. What a wonderful thing the internet is.

Seriously though, most rumours are dispelled with time, so I wouldn't worry about it. I'm pretty convinced that the run-time's a placeholder, but I think the release date is a bit more likely.

Toei's next "Precure All Stars" movie this winter is going to be full CGI. (Source: http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/peperon999/i ... b1e7bb.jpg ) Does this free up anyone talented to work on DB15 who would've otherwise been assigned 2D cuts on All Stars?

Shida Naotoshi, Hamano Yuu'ichi, and probably even Itaoka Nishiki given he is a member of Studio Live, which Yamamuro managed to get to work on Kami to Kami. Those are the three most regular action key animators to work on PreCure as of late.

That looks great! If we get them for DB15, the trade-off of losing the animation from All Stars is worth it. (I haven't cared for the character design in recent All Stars movies anyway, and there's so many All Stars films at this point with too many main characters trying to vie for dialogue that I'm not too disappointed that Toei's going all cgi dance movie on this one. I tend to like the regular precure movies better than All Stars anyway.)

Speaking of the All-Stars movie, I'd love to see Shida do something like he did for the opening scene of Mirai no Tomodachi. Dragon Ball has never quite had a chance to do something like that.

So are we talking about the animation itself, or are we talking about the art work in the movie, or both? When we complain or celebrate these animators works? Or worry about the 2015 DBZ Movie?

'Animation' refers to the key animation and in-between animation drawings. The movement and the art are inseparable when defining 'animation'. 'Off-model' characters are entirely different from 'poorly drawn characters'. Being off-model is not a bad thing. It's rare a bad animator is allowed to use so much movement, so if a character is moving a lot you can imagine--whether it is 'off-model' or not--the intention was very much to depict the characters in the manner in which they were drawn.

I meant like the storyboard, and angles they'll use in the movie more then if the characters are on model, though I've never really thought of DBZ and stylish as far as those things go; Still you answered my question about which one we should actually worry about. Thanks!!

The use of the camera is usually a combination of factors. Some directors, like Hatano Morio, really use a lot of effort to give their storyboards interesting angles and framing. From there the key animator draws a layout based on the storyboard section he is working on, which is then checked by the animation supervisor and director. Some key animators will deviate from the storyboard and be allowed to do so because of their talent and trustworthiness. The problem here is that Yamamuro Tadayoshi doesn't have a history as a director, so it's hard to tell if he has any style, especially given he hasn't done any interesting layouts in his key animation before.

If we assume it's 2 hours, does that mean we might have an extended version in the future with a few more minutes of content? Or will they cut material from these 2h to, say, 1 and a half for the theatrical release?

I have a feeling they'll cut down from 2hrs, if them rumours about BoG's original runtime being too long for children is true then I doubt we'll see the full 2hrs, well as a theatrical run time at least.

They aren't going to purposely remove content just to have a theatrical release and a later extended edition.

If we happen to end up with this setup again, regardless of the length, it will be just like with Battle of Gods. They'll have planned out the film via storyboards, but didn't manage to get all of it animated before the theater deadline. If we are lucky after that, then they'd animate some of the material that wasn't able to make the cut and then splice it in.

I'm having in mind the thought as how high chances do we have to see Jaco or Tights, or both in this movie? I personally can see Thights to meet Goku, and to have her to be the partner of Goku instead of Bulma. If the despair is as big as it was foretold, then Jaco should also be around if he is still the Galagtic Partolman. Just thinking, opinions?
