Definitely interested to see the Gohan/Trunks interaction. I highly doubt it's going to be any sort of 'insult' to Gohan's character like some seem to be constantly on the lookout for/assume basically everything is, though. If anything, I imagine Trunks will be happy that at least this timeline's Gohan got to live and have a family, and will probably hope for the same in his own timeline if he can ever get things set right again.

So when is it we're having a week without an episode? After this week's episode?

Always the same thing when Gohan is mentioned. Is starting to get really old.

I think you got the right idea. My theory is that by the end of the arc, due to his crimes. Trunks will be permanently removed from ever coming back to the present. I see a lot of setting up to close the character's story. By giving him the relationship with Mai, the Gohan episode maybe showing him the happiness a family provides. Some more lessons/knowledge/perspectives here and there, Vegeta giving him further power to be the protector of the Earth, etc...

I'm pretty excited to go out into another Universe and to see what's up with Gohan after so long. Interesting to see that Zarama is an apprentice to be a Kaioshin, didn't know this as a thing. I thought they were born into it. Hopefully the lore will be further expanded.

This arc has been great and it appears it will continue in the right track. I hope someone makes some art with Goku, Beerus and Whis as detectives, seems they'll be taking this role.

That episode title makes it seem like Trunks is visiting Present Gohan because he remembers his master, Future Gohan. I find this a bit odd because never once in the Cell saga did the two ever connect in anyway whatsoever, nor did Trunks ever draw any comparisons between Future Gohan and Kid Gohan, even when the latter bopped Cell. So...why would he be bewildered now by the differences between the two Gohans when they were already so drastically different to begin with?

And if Goku Black is Zamasu, a Kaioshin from universe 10, why is he reeking havoc in another universe's future? Maybe Future Zamasu is the bad guy, while Present Zamasu is slowly transitioning to evil? Still, why Universe 7? How would he even know about saiyans and Goku?!

Guess I'll have to tune in to find out...

Maybe he was expecting a Gohan with Future Gohan's physique and was bewildered from how slim and weak like he looks.

Yeah the description makes it seem that way as well, which as you said... is odd considering the events of the Cell arc. To me it's like they finally realized... oh right! The Trunks and Gohan team up was really important in the future so let's tie that into the new arc somehow...

But yeah, I'm really interested in actually watching to find out what happens. Trunks will likely be surprised that present Gohan is living a happy life with a family of his own, the opposite of his future counterpart. I don't see his surprise being a "negative" like some are trying to paint it as. I'm willing to wait for the episode before writing off his character completely.

Like father like son. They both have the same response to moral lessons. They both had one in the F arc. Then the both said fuck it to their lessons and decided not to follow through.

It was probably a little easier for him to stand back and realize that Gohan wasn't the same Gohan he was used to when our main timeline version was a kid, but now that he's an adult, the even passing similarity between him and the Gohan that Trunks knew is almost certainly going to trigger some familiarity/memories in Trunks' mind.

In my opinion Zamasu gets corrupted some time and steals Goku's body, but this hasn't happened yet in the present timeline.

Now why he wants to attacked Universe 7 I don't know.

Well since Zamasu will have a time ring maybe he travels to the future and has it stolen by black.

Black tricks Zamasu into giving him Portara Earrings.

It kind of seems too obvious for them to announce that Zamasu has ki like Black and then have that be the case. So I'm fairly certain Black isn't Zamasu.


Maybe Goku causes Zamasu to lose his job when he goes to visit him. Therefore Zamasu will hold a grudge and remember Goku/use his likeness to travel to the future he's been told about.

But why would simply travelling to the future take him into a different timeline.

But that wouldn't explain why Black's earrings are a different color and what would a Kai from U10 want with Goku, dead or alive. I don't see why they would take Goku's body, unless we're going with the premise that U10 have crappy fighters.

Just ridiculous. I don't think anyone minds that Gohan became a scholar but that doesn't mean they had to treat him the way they did. This simply wasn't the best way for them to treat his character. I don't understand how getting an education automatically makes you lose 50 pds of muscle and get glasses that you never needed before. They tried to push that he's a scholar too much and instead created a new character. Even GT did it better. Good on you toriyama for teaching kids that to become smart and educated you have to become lame and weak too. At least everything else sounds interesting.

That's your point of view, I think he's ok. I liked him better with his FnF hair style now that apparently he has went back to his end of Z style...
Everyone except maybe Vegeta at this point are looking skinnier than before, it's just a change of style, it doesn't prove how strong someone is. Just look at Beerus and Whis.

The glasses were already there at end of Z, and I don't see how he's lame now, having a family to watch over is lame?

Why would either party feel ashamed about each other? They have a completely different relationship with each other in the Cell arc. I actually find it odd that Future Trunks is paying mind to this now. However, another member made a great point when I skimmed through this thread that seeing how similar he looks to his master as an adult rather than a child may trigger familiarity, despite knowing they were already different in personality.

I also think we can assume that this isn't going to be a 13 episode arc, since we will be 8 episodes in when Trunks begins to train.

As they will need to resolve: Trunks x Mai, Black's identity, Zenou's involvement, Beat Black, Have Zamasu appear again, Fight Black, Future Bulma's ultimate fate, SS White?(maybe)

This will be assuming there's literally zero other developments in the arc.


As for Gohan feeling shame. How about this scenario:

Trunks is going to Gohan to notify him that he wasn't strong enough to protect his loved ones in the future and has lost them but can't lose humanity. He'll be taking Vegeta and Goku and Piccolo to the future and they don't know what may happen, Earth's safety has to be in your hands for the meantime.

Gohan then realises that others won't always be there to look out for him, and that he needs to be strong to ensure he can always protect his loved ones. Ashamed at how he has let himself become he improves himself.

Hmm the odd thing is "apprentice Kaioshin" I didn't expect there to be an apprentice of sorts. It would surprising if Black is the real Kaioshin but then again it wouldn't make sense at all. I'm very interested in seeing what happens and how Universe 10/3 might play a part in our Universe.
