Whether or not one considers the movie a superhero movie is irrelevant. It's a bout a boy with extraordinary powers defeating a great evil. The only reason its being made is because of the trend of Superhero movies (Spiderman, Batman, X-men), and it is going to be accepted by the general public as a Superhero movie.

True, of course. But the movie's been adding women and bringing relatively minor/non-fighting women into higher spotlights.... so it isn't out of the realm of possibility.JAPPO wrote:The series seems to avoid creating any female characters. Even when technically they are needed.
And wow.... I shouldn’t have replied when there were still five more pages to read. In short..... DIX has always been a jackass and I expected no better than him (though it's embarrassing to know he was actually able to get through to the scriptwriter- someone... borderline intelligent should have been the one to do so). Chiquita's list is likewise painful to read and Son's sounding worse and worse in every new bit of info, even if other stuff is starting to look cooler.

Well guys, WATCHMEN is garnering mixed reviews, and I have to agree. I read the graphic novel about 8 months ago or so, and I have the say the movie was very, very close. It removed certain things for time, but what was there was pretty much dead on accurate, but I have to say, I was disappointed. I saw the movie ahead of time last night at the theater where I work.
Personally, I found the fact that it matched the graphic novel to be quite an achievement, but on the other hand, I knew exactly what was going to happen, even the alternate ending for the film didn't faze me. And since I knew everything that was going to happen (as little was changed) my enjoyment of the film suffered.
So here is where my point comes in. Maybe it's not a bad thing that they are changing Dragonball up a bit for the movie. Now I am glad I won't know everything that is going to happen. As long as the movie still holds it together, I shouldn't be disappointed.

The movie is something different then what is usually playing at the theaters these days. Movies do not always have to be super serous high drama, sometimes I think that we need more fun movies and less Oscar winners.
The more I see of the movie the more I like it.... maybe.

Man, Goku knocked Chi-Chi out. o.o; Wasn't expecting that, exactly.
He still seems... a little out of character, but we'll have to see the rest of the movie. I'm not talking about him knocking out Chi-Chi, just the way he talks, acts, reacts, all that. Not terrible, but hope it gets better.

What'cha gonna do 'bout that, hm? All we can do now is watch. We have no control over this. I'm really looking forward to future merchandise and possible spin-offs that this movie could inspire.

I demand a Weaver spin-off. Even though he only has 1 line, I believe he is underrated.Pain wrote:What'cha gonna do 'bout that, hm? All we can do now is watch. We have no control over this. I'm really looking forward to future merchandise and possible spin-offs that this movie could inspire.

I wouldn't enjoy such a thing. It's like making a series about Jimmy Olsen. It would just be boring. I'd demand a back story on the Saiyajin, Evolution-style. Or maybe a manga? Or an anime? Or even another game???JAPPO wrote:I demand a Weaver spin-off. Even though he only has 1 line, I believe he is underrated.Pain wrote:What'cha gonna do 'bout that, hm? All we can do now is watch.
