I'm going to echo Low Tone G's sentiment and say that it's time for Toriyama to retire. Let someone else handle Dragonball from now on. Either that or let it rest; there's no need to drag it through the mud like this.

It is not only him that think Toriyama should retire. But on the plus side, it is good because whenever I see someone bashing on Bardock/Ooishi Naho, I have a counter-argument.

Going to go out on a limb and say it's a commentary on how to do god forms right in his opinion (I personally prefer Kurumada's original God Cloths from the manga *also gold*), but yeah, there needed to be some context in there.

The spoilers are interesting, but I'm still going to withhold judgment until I can see the movie myself. Too many people jump to judge on movies like these without giving them a fair shake (like many of my DBZ fan friends, sadly).

Goku achieved Super Saiyan 2 and 3 off-screen,nobody ever seems to bring that up at all.

Goku defeats Nappa and Vegeta kills him : It's considered a win for Goku.

Vegeta defeats Freeza and Goku kills him : It's considered a loss for Vegeta.

So them complaining about Freeza even though the same thing happened with Goku isn't surprising to me.

God, this movie sounds more like absolute crap the more I learn about it. Even if the central idea of Freeza's revival was something I was opposed to from the start, it still would have been nice if the rest of the movie didn't read like pointless schlock.

Yes, because Ooishi Naho has produced a critically acclaimed manga that has sold millions of copies worldwide and became one of the most significant mangaka of all time. They are are totally comparable.

Always using the whole story. It is what it is now, pal. Historically, Toriyama is better than Ooishi, no doubt. But now? No way.

Not entirely thrilled about how the movie sounds. Would have liked something bigger to have been going on with Freeza. Glad to hear there are plenty of great character moments and and at least a little bit of development for Goku and Vegeta. No strong opinions on Blueper Saiyan. Though, I'm particularly confused as to why they wouldn't play 'F' during a battle scene.

I remember all the defenders of this '4 months of training' nonsense going on about how we don't know how Freeza trained and it will be explained.
But nope we get nothing. not even an idea of what he did and the rest be off screen.

Incorrect. As a defender of the '4 months of training' "nonsense", I never expected it to be explained, nor did I go on about how it will. I'd mentioned that it might be, but even if it wasn't, between this being the silly, crazy, nonsensical kind of reality that Dragon Ball exists in, and Freeza being a mutant with an absurdly high battle power from birth and nearly 100% unexplained physiology, there's plenty of justification for those absurd gains, as I see it. It's fine if that doesn't do it for you, but there's no need to be so toxic about it.
