the "Dragon Box Z" shouldn't be centered...

Well, in the chat I noticed that the first Tankobon was Nov. 10, 1985 and the FUNiBoxes are coming out Nov. 10, 2009.
FUNiBoxes are coming exactly 24 years after the first Tankobon

I have a feeling the same amount will be taken off the Dragon Box as the season sets were at most stores/websites.
Sorry, if this is somewhat off-topic.
So, doing some math.
The Season Sets - Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price:
49.99
Most sold them at:
35.99
The Dragon Box's - Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price:: $ 79.98
I have a feeling that they will be about 65.98 using the same format (subtracting 14 dollars off).
So, the total for the Dragon Box based on this would be:
65.98 x 7 = $ 461.86
The average total for the season sets based on the 35.99 would be:
35.99 x 9 = $ 323.91
Subtract them both:
461.86 - 323.91 = $ 137.95 dollar difference.
So, $ 137.95 for superior quality doesn't sound bad to me at all.
Finally (Just for the hell of it):
Price of 2 Japanese Dragon Boxes - Price of 7 American Dragon Boxes.
1632.30 - 461.86 = $ 1170.44 difference.
The Japanese Price came from Dragon Ball Wikia, which is probably inaccurate which said that the Dragon Boxes was 100,000 Yen when converted to American money is $ 841.15 so I multiplied that by 2.
My thinking is probably all wrong; but, just a guess.

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

That's epic right there. I'm going to celebrate on that day now as a matter of fact. November 10th shall be known as Dragonball Day! At least, this year anyways.Raki wrote:That is truly amazing.Kuhan wrote:Well, in the chat I noticed that the first Tankobon was Nov. 10, 1985 and the FUNiBoxes are coming out Nov. 10, 2009.

Here's my idea for the first several Boxes, based upon the box art for DBox 1 and DBox 2.
1) Son Goku (we've seen this one)
2) Freeza (from the cover of Japanese DBox 1)
3) SSj Son Goku (from the cover of Japanese DBox 2)
4) Cell (from the sover of Japanese DBox 2)
I figure that, since they used actual DBox cover art for the first box that they'd do the same for the next several boxes. Provided that there'll be 42 episodes in each box, I picked the obvious choices as to which art would be relevant to that part of that part of the series.
I'm not sure how 5-7 will be handled, though.

Is there a way to make a Dragon Ball Day based on a pun from the series in a similer way to the Kinnikuman Day, which is in every Friday 29?nathantheguitarist wrote:That's epic right there. DemonRin, we both contributed - you made the mockup, and then I touched up the image a little bit - we're like a contributing team
Anyway, I fixed the Vol. 3 design. Anyone wanna add text?

I know it won't end up as the cover, but this is fun.

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Not gonna lie, that Goku picture from the Kanzenban would look pretty bad ass on a cover. One question, though: how would the text under the "Dragon Box Z" logo/label look with the image in the background?

I re-did it so Goku wouldn't be so soft looking:

I didn't notice anything particularly homosexual about it, but it was sort of dumb and ill-conceived.B wrote:Oh no, it was the way he said it and the inflection in his voice that I found humorous, not what was actually said. Ooo, that looks so sharp and pretty. That would be a great cover. But it still needs the text underneath "Dragon Box Z"jjgp1112 wrote:I re-did it so Goku wouldn't be so soft looking:

Yeah, that's why I want someone who's better with text and stuff on Photoshop/Gimp to add the text to it.Ramoro-san wrote:I didn't notice anything particularly homosexual about it, but it was sort of dumb and ill-conceived.B wrote:Oh no, it was the way he said it and the inflection in his voice that I found humorous, not what was actually said. Its in the announcement on the Daizex homepage.Flower Mound, TX – July 18, 2009 -- FUNimation Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation, today announces that it has acquired the original masters for the entire Dragon Ball Z anime series, episodes and films, and will release all as the Dragon Box for the first time in the U.S. The first of seven Dragon Boxes will be available at major retailers nationwide this Fall.

*Snip[*.
I did all the clipping, the putting together and the making of Good looking Dragon Balls for the side, the finding of hte Text, the replicating.
You applied a Gaussian blur filter and upped the saturation a tad.
If anything it was 90% me, 10% you.
I was just playing around.
But if you want to act like that, then fine
