Yea, it looks a little petty and cheap but, I'm actually curious as to see some numbers. :?
That one's glitchy. I made my own:

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

It will have an SRP of 79.98$

But when it hits stores like Walmart and Best Buy, it wont be that much, I assume like 60 or 70 dollars, depending on where you purchase it.

Quite frankly, their in-house dub is no longer relevant. It no longer fits with the new & hip image they've always tried to make it, and it has little-to-no nostalgia cred (unlike the genuine original). They can't market it as either "new hotness" or "awesome old show", so they might as well embrace the... ya' know... actual old show that it is.
I agree that the series should be released as intended, even if it is awkward to watch. I'm just saying that from a business standpoint, Funimation would want to stick with what has been selling well for years. No matter the price, I'm sure casual fans will still be picking this up and will be expecting what they saw on Toonami some years ago to be there. I know that $80 price tag wouldn't have stopped me from getting it even when I was a kid. As for me, I'll be watching it subbed and dubbed, no matter which dub track will be on it.
The Dragonball Z dub sells based on the visuals and not what audio track is used. So I really don't think it would matter which audio track goes on there.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Glad to know they don't like DragonBall!

I'm sure the club's readied a neat little welcoming party. :D

They bought it that is all that matters. All that needs to happen after that is they buy the next 6 sets as well.

If they aren't happy with the first Box, why would they buy another six?

I don't know how many people are like this, but my "casual fan" friend is one of those types who doesn't go on the Internet and learn about all of this stuff. He just saw that DBZ was on DVD one day when he was at the store, really liked it when it was on TV, bought the first Season Set, took it home, and watched it. He didn't even go to the audio options and he didn't even notice that the soundtrack was different from when he used to watch his old VHS tapes he got as FUNi released them.

I had to tell him that there were two dub BGMs and only once did it effect him. He bought one of the movies or something that had the licensed heavy metal in it and switched to that track simply because he's a fan of whatever band they used in whatever movie it was. Other than that, he doesn't really care and he's one of those guys who I can talk DBZ with for hours. I'm pretty sure that his roommate (who also watched DBZ on Toonami) never noticed and I know that their girlfriends didn't notice because they never watched it before the Season Sets. Also, just to note, they and their girlfriends didn't find the JPN BGM boring, stupid, old, or anything like that.

I kind of have this image in my head that a lot of the people who bought the Season Sets are that kind of fan. They don't care. They just wanted to watch DBZ again. They said, "Yeah, I did notice that the colors were messed up on Season 2, but it didn't really bother me so whatever," just like my friend and his girlfriend did. Considering that internet nerds who come online to talk about anime and bitch about domestic releases seem few and far between compared to guys like the people I just described, in the long run it doesn't really matter to most people which BGM the dub has. So, for the sake of accuracy in comparison to the original, I'd like to see the JPN BGM.

If they only choose one dub and it's the US BGM dub, it really won't affect me much, though. But, while FUNi still has a choice, I'm choosing JP BGM based off of principle as well as personal music preference that stems from the time I watched the dub solely, didn't know about the differences between the JPN and US versions, and thought one BGM was for the movies and the other was for the series (as opposed to one being JPN and the other being US).

So, from my perspective, most dub-watching DBZ nostalgia seekers aren't going to notice or care.

The dub already is inaccurate, so adding the Japanese BGM won't help. So they might as well keep the one they've been using for years.

"Well, it's already dog shit on the carpet. Why don't we make it all funky-colored and wet so it stains the carpet, too!"

EDIT: Meaning, don't make what you're wanting out to sound worse than it may already be perceived.

Just keep both. Why is it even an issue? Keep the broadcast music for those who remember it fondly. And keep the original Japanese music because it's the original Japanese music.

Exactly. And not only that, but the people who want the dub music out probably don't even watch the dub in the first place. So let us enjoy our version while you enjoy your's. It's as simple as that.

It's something to talk about until we know more. I can't remember if godofchaos said there'd be room for three audio tracks or not, but I know he said there'd be enough room for two.

As long as we don't get all wangsty about it like we did several pages back (which we defused that on our own) there's no reason to not discuss it.

EDIT: First most of my points were completely ignored. Now we're using bold and interpreting discussion as something much worse. Shit. Better call it off before it turns into another grudge match.

I'm with Kendamu. I don't see the harm in discussing the pros/cons of including which/some/none/whatever. As long as it's a relevant discussion, you're bringing something new to the table, and not posting stuff like this:

Which would have been my guess, but from the PR at the con:

which indicates to me that the movies are part of the 7 boxes. Well find out more when the time comes I guess. For the sake of video, I hope they don't think they can get 7 eps and a movie on one disk...that could be problematic.:sd:

Oh wow, American Dragon Boxes! No way!

I wonder what made them think that a movie was coming with each Box... Oh well.
