Is there any release that is better than the "Japanese Dragon Box sets"? I'm getting debates on my old channel, I think It's by far, the best remastering, It's clean, grain is okay for me, because they left it as Original as possible. It's also the most well made box sets, because they are heavy and sturdy, the case is not light and cheap. The disks have their own corner, they are not stacked. I mean really.... I understand they cost thousands, but..


What's your opinion?

FUNimation's American Dragon Boxes, because the picture quality is nearly identical and they are vastly more affordable.

Yeah, just joking. If you look at the products themselves, and disregard pricing, of course the Japanese boxes are superior in terms of sheer content alone even.

They just make them quick to make, no thought. That's the problem nowadays. They look for the cheapest parts and all the shortcuts making something not last long at all, just a cheap product.

FUNimation definitely doesn't cut corners with their Dragon Boxes packaging. They are smaller, so now the discs overlap, but the packaging itself is very tough and sturdy, as well as the Dragon Books and DVD cases. Heck, the original retail price was $80 for the first box, so they definitely aren't cheap products in regards to retail price, and likely manufacturing price. That would be the orange brick season sets.

I don't have that kind of money! Not only that, but I don't know Japanese, so at this point, even if they were affordable, I wouldn't buy them because the American sets have English subtitles (though before FUNimation announced they'd release the Dragon Boxes, I planned on buying some Spanish sets and transferring the dub and subtitles over from the season sets).

But yeah, I know they're huge. That's why I stated FUNimation's are smaller. I've seen pictures of them, and I wouldn't have the shelf space for them.

But the American DB boxes are quite good if you take into account the picture quality and price. They are actually affordable.

The Japanese DB box is going to win since its bigger, has more features,etc. against a single volume of the the American one.
