Super Saiyan 4 Goku had pink fur and everybody took him seriously at all times. It didn't ruin him and it was not played as a joke. Not to mention that in Japan, pink is sometimes actually associated with manliness, not cuteness or love or whatever.

That's a pretty different scenario, making Batman completly pink would be stupid for mere fact that it goes entirly against what Batman was trying to achieve, his skill set and his thought process behind is costume.

Plus, if people in the anime community can still find this to still be intimidating...

I don't think pink hair will be able to ruin Black that much.
That's exactly why pink doesn't suit Black. It goes against what he stands for and is trying to achieve. The meaning behind the color does not fit him in any way. Pink represents cute, romance, love, kindness, compassion. What does any of that have to do with Black? Purple represents ambition, power, mystery, death, evil, etc. It fits perfectly. So much so his ki attacks are actually purple. Give him pink ki attacks too, and suddenly it's even more silly. What about pink screams "Yep totally Black. When I think Black I think kind and compassionate."

I don't take that seriously. He has a fluffy pink scarf that's horrendously oversized. I can't comment on the character and how that works with him as I do not know the character. With Boo I explained why it works for him as his personality and actions are silly and bizarre.
Agreed. Purple would have been a great colour for Black's transformation, that colour will definetely fit him. Maybe Toriyama surprises us and gives Black another transformation with purple on it??

Right? This is the first time I've heard of pink being too "silly." Lmao. I think seeing it in the show will help others see that's it not as negative as it's being made out to be.
Dragon Ball /Z/GT/Super is a children's show and there's nothing wrong with that.

I doubt that. I'm pretty sure it's just the one. Even with SSJ4 while it was mocked, light red/pink does fit Goku's personality. Goku is kind, compassionate, etc. It also fits in the regard it's a color that relieves of anger and rage, which is what Goku had went through as an Oozaru. So it has more meaning to it.

True, but if purple was the color they stuck with I could see them making it a lilac tint instead. Easy on the eyes and not so deep like how SSJ Blue's color is.

People. It's a hair color. It's not even a "girly" pink. Why is this so big of an issue? Can someone please enlighten me?

DragonBall's masculine overtones are being threatened obviously.

I explained why it could be bad, not why it is guaranteed bad. I have no idea yet how it looks in the show, and I may be surprised. It's just once again people getting upset that there's people with other opinions then them, so they throw a hissy fit about "Why can't you like everything". I can see from their point of view why some negativity might be jumping the gun, but underneath that, they have their reasons.

Frieza's is more feminine and unmasculin then Black could ever be by having pink hair.

Need to make a correction. Pink in Japan is not associated with manliness per se. It is associated with Samurai warriors, particularly their death. That should teach me to post from vague memories. Still, pretty far away from cuteness and sillyness.

Also, regarding purple. Don't we have enough purple already? Freeza, Beerus, Champa, Hit, Zamasu, Copy-Vegeta. It's really the blandest choice they could have made. Not to mention it clashes with Black's design.

People are attributing a preconceived set of feelings and meaning to pink, which don't exist from the get go. It's just a color. The only actual opinion we can form is if it suits Black, visually. That's the only thing that's objective.

There's a reason different cultures give different meaning to a color, symbols, numbers, etc... But there's a context, here there isn't. Maybe it will be given, we don't know yet.

We should all see pink as void of inference or suggestion, it's just bloody pink. The same way blue was just bloody blue.

Completely true! Pretty much anyone who doesn't know DBZ thinks he's a woman. I actually think pink is a good fit for black. It usually goes with complete psycho's. Yuno, Doflamingo, Buu etc.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I only realised that he wasn't a she upon rewatching the series...

I just don't understand why hair color is something everyone's worried about.

*leak appears for Black Goku's Super Saiyan form*
First thought is "Black has a Super Saiyan form?!" Nope.
First thought is "Black might have god ki?!" Nope.
First thought is "Black has pink hair! Oh, this is so horrible!" Yep.

I mean, shouldn't that be our last thought?

I believe a new guide book was released. Toyotaro did that chapter explaining when the Pilaf gang made their wish to become young again.

Looks like Toyotaro's art-style. Was a special chapter released or something?
