That was even more nondescript than the scans.

Hmm... at least one Oozaru is confirmed. The last game featured Tarble. The Sparking series featured never before seen Oozaru forms like Nappa. I'm calling it now: Oozaru Tarble will be playable.

Well, we know it is Spike again. Either Bandai doesn't care how well this sells or they're stuck in some awful contract that they need to ride out. Hopefully they'll be pressing Spike to make a real winner.

...and include another special from Toei. 8)

Well I figured Spike was behind this after watching the trailer a few times. Eh,the game looks good but only time will tell.

The style kinda looks like Raging Blast 2`s intro, doesnt it?

Both, I suppose. I do really like Goten. But given what we saw with Burst Limit and now DragonBall Kai, there's always gonna be room for paranoia with regard to the Boo arc in general.

Speaking of which, Kara Edwards let slip that she's recording for a video game this afternoon. I would think that it means this game right here, so that might indicate Goten, etc.

I wouldn't worry about it. Spike hasn't yet made a game that didn't at least extend to the Buu era. And with her involvement, it's probable that they'll include Goten/Videl. The Dragon Ball Kai dub used different actors, so she could easily be voicing someone from earlier in the series, but odds are the Buu stuff is in the game.

Anyway, as LeprikanGT said, the character roster will probably be dreadful. And when I say dreadful, I mean Raging Blast level... that probably sounds stingy, but to be honest, with the vast rosters we've seen thus far, I'm really not interested in playing a game with just the basics, unless the game play is outstanding. Either make a game with 20 incredibly unique characters, or compensate for lack of individuality by putting in 100. That's my philosophy--if you're going to have 20 characters that are all clones, count me out.

I doubt they'd Burst Limit us in that regard, Spike seems to be more concerned with consistency than Dimps... such as including all of the Jinzoningen and Ginyu team.

Hmm, I wonder if this was intentional. The only other Dragon Ball video game to say its visuals were inspired by the manga was, Super Dragon Ball Z. I made note of the eerily similar Shenron logos for Age 2011 vs. Super Dragon Ball Z.

The shading done to the characters models is a step up from the last few games. I'm glad they didn't try to make them look like how they look in Zenkai.
Other than that it looks like more of the same. Yay.

And I wonder if the manga-style graphics could lead to a manga only roster.

Don't get me wrong, I would love a nice big 'ol roster but I want people that haven't been in the games [and new costumes for petes sake...and moves they have always skipped over]or ones previously skipped that SHOULD be in. That crater from the kamehameha blast makes the stages look a lot bigger. I'm buying this game already...but some gameplay and roster hints would be nice.

Technically they've just been rehashing 80% of the generic beam volley attacks and a couple of meele combo attacks from the Tenkaichi series.

Id like to see moves like the one Goke did against fat Janemba and lesser used ones. A character doesn't need to use a move 9586 times beforeitis in a game.

Also they should REALLy fix the energy volleys.

The one where he was SSJ3 and charged two energy balls in both of his hands and then crushed Janemba's face in?

Yes there are so many techniques and attacks the characters used on the series which they also used totally spontaenously and only once just like this attack against Janemba. They should really look through the anime and add a ton of them.

Updated the first post, been keeping up will all the information but haven't been able to post.

Loving the 'manga' graphics and I think they're the best we've seen. One thing is though, in the images and trailer we see Vegeta's clothing is torn and frayed... Will we get in-game battle damage? I really hope we do!

I'm pretty sure there will be in game battle damage. That's tradition for Spike. Like how they never end a game at the Cell saga.

No, no. The rips and tears are minor. I mean small battle damage that react to the damage you're taking aside from if you get hit by an ultimate or the scratches that appear after half a bar of health goes.

Added three new screens to the first page, especially like this one:

Also what does everyone else think about the 'Super Saiyan' colours this time? I absolutely love them!

Trailer was pretty meh, though the character models are waaaaaay better than RB. The ending with the Oozaru had me pretty excite though.

Hm... doesn't show much, so I'm not really excited yet. Still, I'm glad we have a game coming out this year. Even if it's just a slight improvement, I'm happy we at least get something.

Wait, is this the actual title it's being marketed as? I've seen boxshots and the logo is pretty intricate....
