Then that's probably what to expect for nicktoons then. I had never seen the TV edited Movie 12 when it was on Toonami, so i thought for sure that they'd reuse the old "HFIL" term instead of Hell

...ok, I'm still pretty convinced this is uncut especially after seeing blood spray from Goku's wound and hearing Vegeta's "life will be a hell" line. If I see hitler (which mostly likely not considering :P) I will be absolutely convinced.

I guarantee this is situational and that there's no way Kai could've gotten away with this. Nicktoons just didn't think they warranted paying FUNimation to make other edited cuts, so they took what they could get. Angry notes from parents in 3... 2... 1...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I didn't realize exactly how over-saturated the old DBZ stuff was until seeing the Broly movie on Nicktoons.

Eh........I don't think so. I think maybe a handful of parents will complain at most, and probably not even that. Granted, that's just a hunch, but I've always gotten the impression that any editing done in anime nowadays is, for lack of a better term, anticipatory editing. In other words, the people in charge of making the edits try to anticipate what could, in theory, make somebody angry. If they're airing it uncut, it could very well be because they don't anticipate any complaining.

And I really hope they don't get any. If they don't, it would be yet another victory for the anime industry. It would show that there's not only a demand for it, but a demand for uncut or less-edited anime, which would strengthen FUNimation's position to get other anime on the network. Including um...oh, I don't know..........maybe a random anime about a young pirate whose body has rubber-like qualities. Ya know. Just sayin.'
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Seems the only thing cut out of Fusion Reborn was the Hitler scenes. Everything else though, the blood, the fighting, and even saying "Hell" was left in!

My cable guide (along with many others) have these movies marked as TV-PG, and they seem to be designated exclusively to Nicktoons' primetime slot (meanwhile Nicktoons' sister channels TeenNick & Nick@Nite have no issues with airing TV-14 rated content like That 70's Show).

I think what we're getting is the TV-PG edit of the movies, and someone over at the network didn't get the memo and proceeded to label the movies with a TV-Y7 rating (the same thing happened back when Toonami began to air unedited episodes of Gundam Wing). Although, Nick has been known to be more liberal with allowing language (I remember an episode of Rocko's Modern Life and many others which used the word hell) and conservative with allowing violence while Cartoon Network has been the direct opposite.

I'm actually more surprised that they left Herrcule's car from the intro and posters unaltered, and yet removed the Hitler scenes (which were presented in a goofy tongue & cheek manner and used X's instead of swastikas). I can only imagine parents tuning in and seeing this without understanding the context of the character or the series.

Nicktoons is probably going to get some incoming letters from angry/confused parents...

I see we are getting the Second Broly movie as well. I guess the third isn't far behind.

Okay, hearing how Nicktoons aired Fusion Reborn in a "mostly uncut"-sense is almost hard to believe, honestly. xD Like a "see it to believe it" kind of thing.

According to my Cable guide, it's re-airing at 2AM. I'll catch it then!
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

FUNi's probably using the same edited cut they used when it aired on Toonami in 2006, where they originally edited out Hitler. Probably not a Nicktoons thing.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised at the amount of things they left in. I guess they didn't have time for a redub so they just had to leave it as is.

It was really neat to see We Gotta Power and Head Cha La on TV again after all this time.

Footage wise they did. They changed the music though.

Fusion Reborn is on Nicktoons' site, but hidden. Here's the link:

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

Hm, seems to be a bit more cut than the French dub was. The French dub just literally removed the frames with Hitler while leaving in the rest of the Goten/Trunks fight. These guys removed the entire thing.

I understand editing Hitler out but the whole scene seems a bit much.

Hmm I wonder how many newcomers to Kai had no clue what was going on and won't for the entire month?

Look Gohan's an adult!
Look their's another Gohan!
Look Gohan's a kid again!

Thats what I imagine is going to happen, since they start with 8,12 then the last 2 as of now are Coolers movies. Also, don't they pretty much ruin the entire ending to the series by doing this? Showing stuff like Goku's alive before he dies in Cell Games, then the last Kai episode will tell them he's dead along with other stuff? I don't get it, but this means Kai won't finish until at least the end of the year for U.S unless they add the Z Buu saga. I hope this means more Anime and stuff for this new generation.
